Cigarette Butts - Miami Refuge

She wanted it to happen. She wanted things to work out that way. But she didn't dare hope even if she did smile and nod her head slowly.
"Mmm, we should probably get out of here before we turn into prunes" she said, looking over to see if she could reach the towels from the bathtub.

She could reach them and luckily, they weren't soaking wet. "Go on... I'll be right behind you."

"Mmm, you better, because I plan on crashing in your bed tonight, with the boys" the blond laughed as she got out, snatching and wrapping one of the towels around herself before picking up the other and holding it out for Cass so she could simply step right into it.

Cass got up and stepped out, shaking a bit of the water from her hair before taking the towel in her right hand as she wrapped it around herself. "I'll put an extra blanket on the bed for added cuddliness," she smiled.

"I'll grab my covers, you can never have enough pillows or covers or blankets" ever.

"But if I wake up to Edd and Eddie snoozing on a pair of my underwear," she shook her finger... "Well, that's okay, too," she chuckled.

"If you found something else to bribe them with I'm sure they won't try to steal them again" she laughed as she dried off, well, most of the water anyways and bounced off to go grab her covers and pillows so they could turn Cassie's bed into a Heaven of fluff.

She followed behind, but went into her own room and rummaged through her suitcase looking for something comfortable to wear to bed. She wound up with a pair of knit shorts and an old Johnny Cash t-shirt. She pushed stuff out of the away and made plenty of room, turned off the computer and put away all of the pictures she had printed. At least it would be cozy.

Yup cozy, Teddy needed cozy, maybe Cass did too? At least the blond, dressed in pj pants and a tank top, returned shortly after, her arms full of covers and pillows and the two ferrets running around her with happy little sounds.
"I think they've picked up on the fact that they're gonna get to snuggle in bed tonight" she chuckled.

"I'd say they did," she chuckled, patting the bed. "Get on up here, make yourselves comfy. There's plenty room." She scooted back against her pillows, moving them to the side a little and sat with her legs crossed.

The fluffiness was dropped on the bed about the same time as Ed and Eddie jumped up and proceeded to gleefully cuddle and squirm in the covers and the sheets.
"Mhm"
Teddy sat down next to Cass, careful not to sit on a ferret.
"I like it when they're happy" she smiled, knowing she had a tendency to bring them down as of late.

Cass lifted the sheet, pulling it over her head and Teddy's head, trying to find where the ferrets were trying to burrow to, "You'd think it was Christmas for them or something." Hyper little things. But if they were happy, then the Rose at least knew that Teddy could smile for a little while.

"Mhm, extremely hyper. But happy is good. I think they miss playing around in the garden" she couldn't blame them, she missed the garden too.

"So why don't we go back to the house one night... Just to let them get out some of that energy? Might be good for them. For you..."

"I... I-I don't,,," don't know...
She smiled apologetically.
"Let me talk with Jamie first... if he decides to... if he's really mad at me I don't know if I can bare to look at home, you know?" it would feel too broken to her.

She nodded. "Okay.. Okay, that's fair."

She was sure Jamie wasn't really upset with her. She was sure of it, even if Teddy wasn't.

Teddy nodded, managed to snatch Ed and proceeded to curl up around the little ferret despite his protests.
"Gotcha!"

Cass followed suit with Eddie, making sure everyone was as comfy as possible before reaching over to turn out the light and covering everyone up. "You okay, Teddy?" Her arm slipped around her waist.

"Mmm, yeah" she said quietly, curling up into the Rose's embrace. "I just miss fall asleep in his arms..." she smiled softly. "Strange how you can get used to something like that so fast"

"I know my arms aren't the same," she pulled her a little closer. "And I know what you mean. But I think this is a good substitute for now. At least you aren't alone."

"You give good hugs" the blond smiled, the ferrets curling up with them as Teddy let out a soft sigh. "Thank you..." it made a world of difference not having to sleep alone.

"No, thank you." She didn't want to be alone either. In the end, this was something both of them needed.

Teddy moved a hand to rest on Cassie's as she closed her eyes with a whispered "good night", a lingering smile to her lips as she, for the first time in a long time, felt at ease and content going to sleep.

"Good night," she said as she kissed the top of Teddy's head. She knew the blonde would be out and deep asleep well before she was. So she simply waited. And when she was, she moved just enough to hang her dream catcher on the wall above them and slipped her arms back around her before she, too, was taking by the day sleep.
