Cigarette Butts - Miami Refuge

"Hey... were are the critters?" the thought suddenly hit her. "They're not chewing on your cigarettes or something?" potence powered ferrets on a nicotine high? If that happened she was fleeing the house.

She smiled, "I'll go look. You just relax. I'll bring you a towel and a robe, okay?"

Cass stood up and took a few treats from her pocket as she left the room, calling for the ferrets by name as she went on her hunt.

Teddy nodded and sank down into the bathtub again, closing her eyes and thinking of other things.

Meanwhile, what Cassiel found at first was.... a great big nothing. Not a sound. Which as anyone would know, was a bad bad sign.

"Seriously, guys... C'mon, don't leave me hangin', here." Cass wandered first to her bed room to check to see if they had gotten into something they shouldn't have-- and then the other rooms would come next. She heightened her sense of sight and her sense of hearing, leaving no cupboard, drawer or hiding hole unturned.

She'd fin Eddy first, curled up under the sheets of her bed, silently chewing on, quite accurately, a pack of cigarettes.
And Ed? Ed seemed to be int he process of hoarding... everything. Everything small enough to be snatched and carried was being tucked into a corner in under a table.
Why?
Anyone's guess.

"Hey, midget..." Cass carefully and gently pulled the pack of cigarettes away and tucked them down and into her bra. Then she removed any other detritus and fetched a trash bag. "Baby, you can't have that. You'r mother will kill me and then where would we be? No more snacks under the table for you, that's where."

She got on her hands and knees and got under the table to see what he was hoarding... "Whatcha got there, buddy?" Her main concern was making sure he didn't have anything he wasn't supposed to... Bits of trash, things he could choke on... The only few pairs of underwear she owned that she didn't actually buy herself...

Really, he'd hoarded anything and everything he'd been able to drag in under there, including one of Teddy's hoodies.
Ed pouted when his toy was taken away, while Eddie tried to lay on what he'd taken as if he was somehow heavy enough to stop her from taking it back.
His stuff, his!

"I'm sure Teddy doesn't mind you having that hoodie... But I'm taking back my underwear, dammit," she said with a smile as she reached to grab the black satin pair of panties. "Please?"

Did you know a ferret could pout? Well it could, though he had the decency not to try and hang onto said panties at least.

"Really? Are you really giving me that look?" Oh for Heaven's sake... Cass wasn't that callous. "Hold on, buddy, I'll find you something."

She moved over to her suitcase and rooted around until she found... oh... oh... that was just PERFECT! Cass pulled out a very red, very formal gown from the suitcase. It was completely wrinkled and not taken care of. But that was alright, it was a gift from Frederico, after all.

She grabbed a pair of scissors and tore this dress apart, tossing the scraps of it onto the floor for the little.

"Have at, buddy. Just for you."

Ooooh pretties! Both Ed and Eddie jumped at the opportunity, scrounging up as many pieces as they could as they ran back and forth from their little nest to store them only occasionally stopping to squabble over a piece or bumping into each other on the way.

Happy ferrets were happy, and panties were completely forgotten.

She watched them for a few minutes, just to make sure they didn't have anything else that could make them sick before she held up the pair of panties and sighed softly. They got balled up and put into her pocket... Because that's totally where they belonged, right?

She scrounged up a clean towel and robe and then headed back to the bathroom to lay them out for Teddy, but did so quietly so as not to disturb her.

The critters were happy happy critters with plenty of stuff to play with now.

And Teddy, she turned her head slightly to smile at the rose when she walked back inside, holding a hand out for her.
"the water's still warm" she said gently. "Wanna join me? in a totally platonic kind of way" the blond laughed, knowing Cass wouldn't take it the wrong way anyways when invited into a bathtub with the caitiff.
Sisters, remember?

"Sounds good," Cass squeezed her hand. She stepped away to get out of her clothing, doing what she normally did and tossing her clothes aside in a pile. Maybe she'd actually put on the panties later, who knew?

Cass stepped into the water carefully and eased her way down, scooping water up and running it over her arms. "The critters are fine, making a nest with some pretty red fabric. I think they'll be content for a while."

Teddy curled up a little to make room for both of them, leaning back with a low sigh at the mention of the critters.
"I hope they're not doing anything they shouldn't. I think they really miss Medwyn... They keep stealing his shirts" which, in all honesty, Teddy had stolen first, wanting to sleep with something that carried his scent in her arms. "An I thought the nesting instinct was suppose to be more prominent in the females"

"Who knows with ghouls? It might be that this place just isn't as comfortable. But they're okay," she said as she sunk a little down into the water. "They have some pretties to play with."

"Mmm, keep forgetting they're Ghouls..." she said, throwing a sideways glance towards the door as if looking for them. "I've only ever had one person bound to me before so... I keep forgetting" Teddy smiled as she looked back at her. "I think they'd miss him just the same though. Blood or not"

"They might," she nodded. "But the blood makes it stronger, that bond. But Medwyn is easy to long for, I'm sure. He's a nice guy and I know the ferrets can sense that."

"He is" oh her smile was so warm when she spoke of him like that. The warmth and the love translating to her tone of voice as much as to her gaze really.
"The blood makes everything stronger, but I don't know... I think I'd miss him just as much without it..." because yes, of course she was bonded to him.

"You would," Cass believed that. Because that's what love did. "I know you would."

"I always missed him when we were apart when he was still human... This? This feels the same only... it's longer" it felt like forever really. "I really miss waking up next to him. Never thought I'd be so dependent on anyone else. But I am. And I don't want it to change" she chuckled. "Silly huh?"

"If you want me to say it's silly, Teddy.. I can't. I don't get to be with Alex everyday, but... I cherish that time I do have when I can wake up next to him."

Cass looked at Teddy with soft, understanding eyes. "I know this isn't easy. But the only way I survived it was by pushing myself, every day, every night until I could get back to Alex. It's draining... there are times when you feel like you'll never get to have the time with him you want so badly. But you'll get it. You'll persevere."

"You do realize you don't have to stay here with me, right? That I don't mean to keep you away from him?" the blond asked softly, nudging the Rose's ankle with her foot. "If you can, you should be with him. Have that time with him rather than hang out in Sabbat infested Miami with me" because that? That was silly.

"I want to be here, with you," she shook her head. "When I'm there, I can't stay with him anyway. it's alright, really. And I'd rather not leave you here by yourself too often because it's Sabbat infested."

"It's just Sabbat though" Teddy said with a hint of a chuckle as if trying to say it was alright. "I mean, I'm pretty damn good at running and hiding you know. Better than most" she splashed a bit of water on Cassie.
