He thought about that for a moment.

"What if i do not love you less, I just love someone else as well?'

He shook his head.

"That's the thing. There's always someone else. There always has been. None have made you come to me less until this one."

He shook his head.

'I have only loved one other person and that.. Serena was a mess. All the others were lovers, not loves."

He smiled.

"I'm well aware."

"You will always be my first love and the man who I owe everything to and I will always come to you. Yes, she gets more of my time but then, I like with her and she and I are... together."

His brow rose... and for the first time, he said something that was truly hurtful.

"Not right now, you aren't."

He winced and he went stiff. Frederico could see it and Rosita could definitely feel it.

"You are right. We are not right now. And we may not be ever again. She might be gone forever and then you wont have to worry. You will be the only one again."

His brow rose.

"I don't think I care all that much for your tone. I didn't cause it."

He shook his head.

"No. You didn't this is all my fault. Not yours. And I was not implying that it was. Though I did imply that you might be glad of it being over. I know I made this mess and I am the one paying for it."

"Thank you father."

He leaned against his sister in his lap with that, suddenly feeling very tired.

He reached forward, running his hands through Estaban's hair.

"Shall I make you a bed, son? So that you may rest?"

He reached over and pulled his father closer, so He could kiss him. And then he kissed his sister and moved her so he could stand.

'My daughter is at the house and I have a few things to do before I sleep. But thank you for the offer."

The kiss from Frederico was a bit reserved, but it was still there. And the one from Rosita? Much more warm -- almost hot, even. It was Frederico who spoke, though.

"You are welcome. Come by if you need."

'Thank you father. I will. You have raised my spirits and helped me think. Thank you."

He nodded and rose, to show Estaban to the door.

"You are welcome. I will always be here when you need. Take care of yourself, my son."

"I will father you too. Good night Rosita."

They both waved, waiting for him to step outside before shutting the door behind him.
