It wasn't Frederico who opened the door. She had been warned what to expect, so when he came, she simply held her arms wide open for her brother.

He looked... rough. None of his normal swagger. The refined man looked...emotionally a wreck. And this was him trying. And the day after.

He went to her arms and hugged her.

"She left me."

She wrapped her arms around him, pulled him to her.

"I heard."

She said it quietly, with none of her usual fire or flippancy. Which is why, for the moment, she simply held him.

He held her for a moment and then sighed and took a deep breath. He stood up straighter and backed off a little and gave her a little nod.

"Thank you sister. I imagine he is waiting."

There was no question who he was.

She shook her head.

"He is not back yet. Come, I will fix you a drink."

That wasn't a question.

He nodded and followed her.

He didnt ask where his sire was. The man was capricious.

She moved behind the bar and started to pour him a glass. The scent of strong whiskey filled the air, and she didn't even stop at a double. No, this was more like a quadruple. She passed it toward him, pouring a (much smaller) drink for herself as well.

"How can I help?"

"I do not know Rosita. Right now I do not know what to o or if anything can be done. I just know I need to get her back."

He took the glass and took a big gulp. Oh yes, he really didnt want to be sober right now.

She frowned and reached for his hand.

"What happened? I got a very basic rundown of 'they broke up.'"

He sighed.

"The short of it is she left me. I fucked up. I... probably should wait for the specifics. I dont have the strength to tell it twice."

He really didnt.

She shook her head.

"Then tell me and I will relay your words to Father."

She was growing more concerned by the minute.

He sighed. How much to tell her?

"She left me because I was looking into what has happened to Serena. And then I yelled and she yelled and it went down hill from there."

"Serena?" she asked at first, then understanding dawned. "Why would you yell about Serena?"

He shrugged.

"I could not ignore my responsibility and she.. takes Serena very personally."

She blinked.

"You still hold responsibility for Serena?"

Confused little sister was confused.

He gulped some more whiskey.

"I am Primogen. She is a resident. And she disappeared when she had been making a pest of herself. I was looking into her disappearance. Ra;idah does not like even the mention of the woman."

He looked at her and shook his head.

"I know that. This was not a matter of me chasing after her or watching her every movement. I was just checking on someone who lived here.. as I have done on all the others. For a meeting, like we had."

She nodded.

"And your woman was upset?"

"Very. She.. hates Serena. And fears her to some degree."

"That is a very ridiculous reason for a fight."

Little sister doesn't mince words.

He shrugged.

"There might have been a little more meat to it, but that is it boiled down to the bone."

Her brow rose.

"What 'more meat' could there be?"

He shrugged and took another long gulp.

"There just is. Trust me on that."

Yeah he so was looking for a way to not have to tell the entire story. That would be bad...

She frowned.

"You don't trust me, do you, brother?"
