"Dad owned pharmacies with the soda fountains in them. Had them all over Philadelphia. He and my mother were pretty wealthy, actually.. Very well-to-do. I had three older brothers. Much older. I was the one they didn't expect. Lost one of them to World War I, another was injured and came back really messed up in the head. My other brother just couldn't handle it and left. I was sent off to boarding school when I was 8, stayed until I was 16 or so, before I left to go off on my own. Hell, I didn't even change my name until long after my embrace."

The blond listened quietly, watching her the whole time.
"So what's your real name?" she asked softly, the gentle smile still on her lips. "If it's not Cass?" silly little detail, but she kind of wanted to know now.

"Mary Katherine Hendrickson," she wrinkled her nose a little, not so much at the name, but probably at the fact she'd changed it.

"Mary Kathrine Hendrickson" Teddy repeated, looking at her, really looking at her. "Sounds strange now that I know you as Cass" she chuckled softly. "But I like it. It's nice. And there's n shame in changing names. Most of our kind does that along the line I think"

"It kept Jennica away a little longer." She gave a little shrug. "It sounds strange to me, too, now. Like she was someone else... An old acquaintance I barely remember."

Cass pulled herself upright and slid back to lean against the wall. "Am I marrying Alex under false pretenses...? I mean... if I don't use that name?"

Teddy shook her head, as best she could while laying down on her side anyways.
"No, no you're not" she smiled. "You can tell him, but I doubt it'll matter. Because you're Cass now, aren't you? That's who you are, Mary was who were. A part of her will always be part of you, but people change. It's just a name. It doesn't decide who you are. You're you regardless of name"

"Yeah, but what if he thinks I've been lying to him? He's... he's never changed his name."

"Tell him. Really, just tell him. I'll even be there if you want me to. But I don't see why it should be a problem. Anyone can change their name, but I'm telling you, it doesn't change who you are" she smiled reassuringly. "Besides, he'd bloody old, he'll understand. Heck, our Sheriff apparently keeps pulling name changes left and right" the blond chuckled.

"And... body changes..." Shudder. "That, I didn't do, thankfully."

"Mmm, no you didn't. Your body's good as it is" Teddy chuckled. "Don't change that"

"I don't want to change it, I think we're safe on that one," she shivered at the thought.

"You and me both. I think the idea of flesh crafting is rather... disturbing to be quite honest" miiild understatement.

"It's... sickness... It's a disease..."

Teddy arched an eyebrow at her. She agreed it was icky, but a sickness?

"I'm sorry... I just... Maybe it's not. I just don't know what to think about it. Rai has been teaching me about the Sabbat and... some of the things I heard tell about what the Tzimisce do on that side of the fence is just... It's horrible. In fact, there is no one word to describe it."

"The Sabbat is.... yeah.." wasn't much she could say about that that really that Cass wouldn't already know. "I rather just not go there" she said with a weak smile.

She nodded, agreeing that the topic was... dreadful. No time like the present to change it, though.

"I picked up the flowers."

"Ooh, flowers" she liked flowers, as well the Rose knew. She'd seen the Caitiff's garden. "What kind of flowers?"

"Well, they're paper. Some colored, other are made of sheet music. But each one is infused with wildflower seeds so that they can be planted. I wasn't too sold on the idea of killing a bunch of living things for one night."

"Oh, oh, oh!" she almost bounced up to sit on her knees. "That sounds great! That sounds, awesome" it was a word that saw way too much use, but this? This was awesome.

"I thought you'd like that," she smiled sweetly. "And this way, everyone will have something pretty to take with them as favors, too."

"Sounds lovely" Teddy smiled. "I think it'll be a beautiful wedding Cass"

"Yeah, I think it will, too. Here..." She pulled out her phone and brought up a picture. "This is the place."

Oh, and the Caitiff just ended up staring.
She wasn't a Toreador, but that? That was beautiful, so said the bright blue eyes that stared in awe at the picture without a sound coming from those slightly parted lips.

"He did good... Didn't he?"
