Distractions Necessary (Open)

"Okay, red or white wine?" Hobbling towards their pkace.

He smiled.

"White."

"White, mmm more oaky or more fruity?" with a smile at him reaching the door and waiting for him there.

Ali and Medwyn had long since gone home when she actually left the bar. She didn't really need to stay there as long as she did. But she didn't want to go home. She could already barely stand the mostly-empty house and now it was just that much worse. True to her word to Medwyn, she had changed her clothes, into a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. The costume she had been wearing earlier in the evening was in a garment bag slung over her shoulder as she set the alarm on the bar and locked the door behind her to head for her car and go...elsewhere.

He thought about that.

"Either one will work, really. So it's the lady's choice."

Ali opened the drier bottle of white wine, then set up a small tub to soak her feet once it was set up she poured a glass of wine and sat down to soak her feet.

He moved into the kitchen. There was the sound of dishes and pots and pans being moved around and shortly, the sounds and smells of cooking food were wafting from the kitchen. Some sort of spiced chicken was on the menu.

"Smells really good." She called out to him.

He laughed as he cooked.

"It better!"

At least he knew his way around a kitchen.

She laughed "We need to make carne asade again."

He smiled.

"We can make that next week if you want."

"I'd like that." looking over at him "when are you off again so I can arrange off as well, if you'd like."

He pulled out his phone to take a look.

"It looks like I have Wednesday of next week off."

"So Tuesday this week and Wednesday the next week?" Pulling her phone out to put on her schedule so she could make an adjustment with her bartender back up.

He nodded.

"Yep. Unless there's an emergency, obviously."

"Well that's always a caviate with you doctor." with a smile as she said it.

He laughed and emerged from the kitchen with a plate piled high with cajun chicken, black beans and yellow rice for her.

"Yes, but it's important, what I do."

"I agree and Im not disagreeing. Oh thank you." setting her wine down to reach for the food, "I don't think I can eat all of this but I'll have yummy left overs for days. Thank you."

He smiled at her and sat down next to her, reaching over to tug one of her legs out of the water so that he could put her foot in his lap.

"I know. It's that sometimes, I need to remind myself."

"That it's important or that your the one doing it?" taking a bite as she placed a foot on his lap.

He smiled.

"That it's important. Sometimes, it can get lost in the horror of what humans do to each other."

"The scariest Supernatural episodes are the "only" human ones I think." with a smile at him.

He nodded.

"Humans tend to be very cruel to one another."

"Yes we are." taking a bite of the dinner he fixed her and a sip of her wine.

He smiled.

"It's nice when things go right for once."
