Distractions Necessary (Open)

"Or don't go horribly wrong how's that." with a smile at him and a soft laugh, "Want some wine?"

He shook his head and smiled.

"No, thank you. And you are correct. When things don't go catastrophically wrong, it's a good day."

She smile at him "then today is a win" with a bright smile and then wince as he hit a knot in her foot.

He was careful, but being a doctor, he did know where to press to massage and help her relax.

"Exactly. And a little boy will live a very long and happy life, healthy, because of me and the team of nurses who helped him."

"Then you had a very good night then, I know how much you like to help children." with a bright smile at him, a soft sigh as the knot started to work loose and she kept eating her dinner.

He smiled.

"Very good night. And even better, since I'm here at home with you."

"That's very sweet of you to say." with a surprised look that he said it, not in a bad way, it really touched her and it obviously showed.

He smiled at her.

"What? You shouldn't be surprised by that."

"I didn't expect to hear it, how's that." with a smile at him and a sip of her wine.

He smiled.

"That's fair. But it's still true."

She leaned towards him to see if she could steal a kiss as well.

Of course she could steal a kiss. He even grinned before she did so.

She smiled leaning back, then set her food aside and looking at him, "Thank you my foot feels much better."

He smiled at her.

"Good. That's what I was hoping for."

'You win, I wish I could find a good work shoe that didn't look like a little old lady shoe." with just a touch of vanity showing for once and now he knew what she was looking for.

He chuckled.

"Trust me. When you're working, no one is looking at your shoes."

"I know but I know what I'm wearing." with a soft laugh.

He laughed.

"Well, it might as well be something comfortable. At least you won't tear up your arches that way."

"That's why I keep looking, but the Boss making my mellow nights into busy nights aren't helping." with a laugh at herself as well. "I should just give up and get the practical shoes." with a "yucky" face as she says it.

He grimaced.

"Her man still MIA?"

"Yes and she's coming with friends to dance on Tuesday, so schedule change for me." with a forced smile. "I can't have anyone else work a possible heavy, you all kind of night. I'll have the clueless but okay bar back - but she never notices anything is off - so if Victor slips up she'll never notice or anyone else does - she's a bit ditzy." with a tired smile, "I'll see if Abigail can come out and bring Jaime; just because the dancing should be amazing. BUT not sure how rowdy or bad the human male crowd is going to get...." finishing her wine and looking at him with a worried look.

"She's found a cute puppy, that seems to be a good sweet kid, and he's coming back with his friends..."

He sighed and ran a hand over his face.

"She always does this shit. I'll be sure to be by on Tuesday, help out if anyone gets rowdy."

"Okay, that would help me feel better even if it's just mentally." with a nod to him and a lean over to gently kiss him again.

He smiled and kissed her gently.

"Not a problem, love. I'll be there. She'll stop soon, I promise. She never really got to be a teenager acting out, so she's just being sixteen."

"Well her being 16, can turn the bar into a brawl quickly, and I'm not sure she realizes she can do that." with a half smile at him.
