A ride home (Abigail) - Jack's Attic

"I'm in no rush... I can sleep in the morning. Not many needing pizza deliveries before noon" he smiled at her.

"pretty sure i' is mornin'..... jus' no' daylight......." she says with a smirk. She leaned in again, this kiss longer and slightly deeper before she finally rested her head on his chest. "Aye, go ta sleep. A' this rate neither o' us will ge' any sleep......" not that she would mind. She had a feeling this was going to make everything even more complicated, but at this point she really didn't care

The hand that found its way up the back of her neck and into her hair when she rested her head on his chest was gentle but affectionate. His fingers flexing lightly int hose red curls of hers as he smiled with closed eyes, sounding adn feeling quite content at the moment as he continued to hold her close.
"Sleep's overrated anyways... but I wouldn't mind sleeping like this"

"Aye? Well good, cause I really 'ave no intention o' movin' a' this rate" she mumbles, letting out a content sigh. She moves her one hand to rest on his chest over his heart. "Mind if I ask wha' exactly happened?" she asked, referring to his condition

"Birth defect" he said simply, not sounding at all upset about it because he'd long since come to terms with it. And he was much too comfortable to get down over something as silly as that. "It's always been weak, so I got a stock of prescription pills that would make any drug addict googly eyed" Jack chuckled softly. "For when it acts up. It's a bit like trying to put a band aid on a magnum bullet wound, but eh, it sorta works"

"Transplant is possible, getting a matching hear though? Well, not so easy. And even then, it's a matter of whether or not my body accept it" he said, brushing his fingers through her heart. "But I've made it this far. 30's the big number" Jack smirked. "If I beat that, I will have beaten the odds"

She gives another content sigh as he runs his fingers through her hair. "Aye, well, perhaps a, match will pop up. Never know. A' least i' is a good sign i' has been this long....?" she says softly. "Hmmmmm...sorry, if ye don' wan' ta talk abou' i' jus' tell me. I can shu' i'....."

"Mm, nothing to worry about. I'm stubborn, so I don't plan on throwing in the towel just yet. And I don't mind talking about it. I know the score, makes it a lot easier to handle" Jack said, continuing to gently move his fingers through her hair like that. Apparently liking her reaction.
"Usually I don't tell people because they have a tendency to freak out over it. But, yeah..." he rather be honest if he was to stay friends with someone.

She chuckles at the comment regarding freaking out. "Oh.....i' woul' take a lo' more ta freak me ou' a' this rate. Trus' me......" she says smiling, "So.....no plans ta freak ou'. Promise."

"Good" came the smiling reply. "Because freaked out women can be such a handful to handle" he laughed softly.

"Aye, Im a handful enough as i' is......" she says in jest. "Or so me da' always tol' me.". Her hand absently traced random patterns on his chest. "No' sure wha' there is ta freak ou' over. I' is par' o' who ye are. No' like ye are some serial killer or something.....". She said, sounding sincere. Yeah, not a vampire either from what she could tell. Definite plus.

"Some people find they don't know how to act around me anymore. Some act as if I'm made of glass and others just distance themselves" he sighed, though still with a smile. "There really isn't anything to freak out over, but people handle things differently"
And yes, definitively a pulse. His heart seemed to be beating just fine, though perhaps, if she listened closely? She could hear that there was something slightly off about it. Like an extra sound in the background of the heartbeat. Though, such was not uncommon for someone with a bad heart, it was usually one of the signs of it.

The fingers in her hair flexed gently.
"Good deal" Jack smiled contentedly.

"Ye know tha' means I still ge' ta hi' ye if ye piss me off, aye?" she says with a soft laugh, tilting her head up to look at him

He opened his eyes to meet hers from under the mess of hair that constantly seemed to fall back down into his face,a smirk to his lips as he nodded once.
"Perfectly fine. I can take a hit or two" heck, he'd taken far more than a hit or two over the years.

"Jus' remember ye gave me permission...." she says before resting her head back onto his chest again.

"Mmm, I'll remember...." he murmured quietly, quite liable to fall asleep like that unless she moved, because he'd already managed to shut out the tv.

She picked up on the fact that he seemed tired, sighing and closing her eyes. It doesnt take her long to fall asleep like that unless he does anything to wake her up. She ends up sleeping there like that with him until morning or until he wakes her up, whichever comes first.

Morning would definitively come first, as Jack? Well, he slept like a log when he was finally able to relax enough to do so. o when she woke up, a bit of light pouring in through the windows which curtains hadn't been pulled shut. He'd find him still asleep, breathing quietly and slowly.
Seemed he wasn't going to wake up even if she moved.

She does wake up briefly, glancing up and noting the sun being up. She debated leaving while he was still asleep, finally deciding to stay until he woke. She lay her head back down, moving slightly to get comfortable and closed her eyes. She probably didnt fall asleep again, but she still lay there anyway

He didn't stir until an hour later at the earliest. A low murmuring and the slight squirming of his body as he tried to stretch suggesting that he wasn't completely awake. Though, the arms around her stayed where they were, giving her a light squeeze even before he opened his eyes and blinked lazily as he tried to adjust to the light.
"Hey..." he smiled.
She was still there.

"Mmmmmmmm......morning she mumbles, looking up and smiling.
