Seems we're always straightening things out (Frederico, Estaban) - Frederico's Haven

He looked at Frederico for a moment.

"Of course. My apologies father."

Oh look, that would be his I know something you dont know face.

Up went the other brow.

"What now? I'm in no mood for Toreador games at present, son."

That was the 'I'm not screwing around' tone, too.

He sighed.

"Yes father. She has quite a colorful past with Griselda. She seems to think all is good but she was in many ways a monster. It is also why Cass does not like her. that p[lus she has a tendancy to roll over people and smile and force them to be little imitations of her.. or so cass thinks."

His brows rose.

"So she and Griselda are not as close as both women would have me believe?"

"They were close. There was a betrayal, at least in the eyes of one, though the other seems to think it was nothing and doesn't understand peoples attitudes."

His brows rose.

"So who is playing whom, then?"

He sighed.

"I think they are both playing each other."

He raised an eyebrow.

"The fun? You mean of watching them play the game?"

He laughed.

"No. Of having them both while they play their games and distract each other."

He sighed.

"That would be a pleasure in the past i would treasure. Now.. I am simply glad to have the love of hte one."

Both brows rose.

"That sounds like something that needs explanation."

He shrugged.

"I almost lost Griselda once. I will not again by sleeping with another woman. I.. cant do that to her or to me."

He just stared.

"She had no issue with you sleeping with your sister."

He shrugged.

"It turned out she did. She just put up with it. And then.. I gave her my ring."

It was almost comical. Estaban could see the dialog bubble over Frederico's head:

"You did... what?"

"I gave her a ring. A wedding ring."

More dialog bubbles. They looked something like: 'O&#$O#&$O&#$&#&%O*&#*&$*O#&' and '..............'

"............... Why?"

"Because i loved her and knew i wanted to spend my life her. I also wanted to illustrate just how much I cared for her."

He sighed.

"Father... have you never wanted to give anyone your heart forever?"

He grimaced.

"Once. Long ago. Never again."

"I have never gone that far. Even with Serena i never felt quite that way. I am not allowed my once? Maybe it will be true, maybe it will break me.. but do I not deserve that chance father?"

He sighed.

"Yes. But your chance was Serena, son."

He looked at him curious.

"Why do you say so? I never got as close to her as I have rai. The happy times didnt even last 3 months before she showed her true colors. I have been with rai for nearly 2 years. A drop of sea in an ocean, but bigger than any other I have held with anyone.
