"Half of that is an act you know from when I was crippled. The other half is real. I'm trying very hard to undo over a century and a half of the mind of a man who was in near constant pain and constantly had the sort of bitterness and nasty lurking somewhere in his mind. If I hadn't been more stubborn and hadn't had Miyu at the worst part, I'd probably have become an evil man. Or at least a man given over to evil. Evil man sounds more powerful than I am. Because I'm pretty sure I'm not much."
