Back to Work (Open)

Ali was back to work, after being off for about a week. She found the bar needing much love, stocking and she was cleaning as the night got started. Her long hair was braided back in a tight bun, she had simple hoops in, her normal necklace on, and bangles bracelets as well.

She seemed pretty subdued to those that knew her, but she was working with a professional smile and back at work.

Victor walked in and sat down at his usual seat and asked for a drink from the special bottles Griselda kept under the bar.

Ali poured it as usual for him, "There you go, how have you been Mr. Steele?" going to place the bottle back, keeping a watch on the bar and staying busy but oddly staying closer towards him then in the past.

"Decent" he smiled. "Especially since my surgery. Modern medicine is incredible. "

"So I've heard. Things adjusting well for you then?" wiping the counter, watching those that enter and keeping a watchful eye.

"It is" he said while sipping his drink. "I don't feel like an asshole all the time. But Miyu says I'm still not allowed to tell jokes. "

"To dry of humor or timing is off?" with a look at him not sure which it was in his case.

"Yes" he agreed to both

"Oh that is rough. No wonder she tells you not to tell jokes, depends on the joke - I'm not the best joke teller either." with a grin at him. "Part of it is cultural for me, and part of it is delivery as well."

"I'm just a stick in the mud"

"So anything exciting happen while I was on vacation?" figuring he was still visiting the bar while she was recovering.

"Somebody snuck into my car to fortunate one night here " he said with a disgusted look

"It is a very nice car, but really to do so without permission is just rude." with a grin that almost reached her eyes.

Victor shook his head. "I thought Griselda would die of laughter "

"She would find it very funny, I am sure she had the car cleaned for you though?" knowing her boss would at least do that.

"Oh Yes" he nodded

"Good." with a nod to him, "What else is new with you?"

"Not much. Just adapting to normalcy again. "

"Well may it keep going smoothly." with a nod to him, then she went to wait on a customer or three, but there wasn't her usual speed or bounce to her steps.

"It never does" he chuckled

Walking back to him, "But i can wish you such."

"Thank you" he smiled. "I've been remodeling a hotel and bookstore "

"Branching out into new things to keep you busy?" with a nod to him.

"Eh, the bookstore is really a sort of hackerspace and place to tinker and build things. More a church to a cyber god I suppose."

"So for you to net surf safely?" with a grin and shake of her head.
