Night Two (Open) - Johnathon's Haven

"Australia has madness, giant reptiles and snakes, and insane amount of poisonous creatures. We have fewer poisonous things."

She laughed.

"But cockroaches that fly and are as big as my arm."

"I am convinced they are a genetic engineering experiment.gone wild. Turn right at the next light and keep going until you see the house"

She took the turn a bit too fast. But there's a reason that the saying is 'drive it like you stole it.' She was grinning the entire way.

"Yes, but the ramifications of someone trying to correct that genetic mutation could be even more devastating than simply killing cockroaches that fly when you see them."

"I believe skeet shooting in Florida involves cockroaches instead of clay pigeons" he chuckled

"You drive well, I hope you are enjoying the machine"

She laughed.

"It's a nice machine."

"perhaps I should build one more exciting "

She laughed.

"I can help! My father is mechanic."

"good" he laughed "you can help me design one. i was thinking a hearse "

She giggled.

"How fantastically gothy of you."

"turn up the next driveway. And yes it is. You've seen my home, why not a gothic hot rod?"

She laughed as she pulled into the driveway.

"I did not say it was problem. I said it was very gothy of you."

He laughed and got out of the car when she parked

"i will build a steampunk one too"

She smirked.

"I do not know if that is better or worse."

"it is" he said while bending down to pick up the little mouse that had ran out to greet him "different "

He held the front door open and smiled "after you"

She laughed and stepped inside, stretching a little.

"You have a lovely home. I do not know if I said so before. It is beautiful."

"Thank you" he smiled "I'm rather fond of this style. Please, make yourself comfortable, I'll get you that drink."

She moved into the room, pulling the bag over her shoulder down to drop at her feet. She sat down in a chair that looked comfortable (note I said looked, not that it was) and took in her surroundings.

"Very steampunk."

"It is in some cases, in others the rooms are absolutely authentic and original, down to the proper carpeting and wall paper pattern. It's a little hobby of mine. Sometimes I feel a century out of touch. If you'll excuse me, I'll be right back."

She nodded and folded her hands in her lap, perfectly content to just sit and wait for him to return.

And he returned a few minutes later with a very strong, and very truly bloody Mary.

"Here you go" he said sitting down "So have you ever experienced the supernatural?"

She took the drink and her brows rose. She started to laugh.

"Like ghosts? I think I watched movie about them once."

"Ghosts, demons, werewolves, vampires. The things that go bump in the night. I saw a ghost once. There is a haunted tavern not too far from here."

She looked intrigued.

"Really? Because to accept that ghosts exist means to accept that someone has a soul. We've already covered how I feel about that."

He smiled "Perhaps we retain an electromagnetic signature that resonates at certain levels. I do not know. But I've seen ghosts, and several rather... unusual things in my studies and travels."
