"you are both infuriated and delightful. What would convince you of my claims ?"

She shook her head.

"Nothing. But why do you need to convince me so much? I accept that you believe you are vampire, is that not enough?"

"because... you've drank my blood and are bound to me now"

She blinked, startled.

"I did? When did I do that?"

"The bloody marys. Somewhat literal."

She looked... hurt.

"You couldn't just ask me?"

That was... surprising.

"We have a rule, one we hold over all. Not to reveal ourselves to persons not considered the of the blood. It is why I have revealed myself now, there is a chance still for you to back out, and for me to erase the memories of what I have told you about vampires."

He looked at her with a genuine sort of compassion. "I apologize Abagail."

She was silent for a long time.

"How many times? How many times did you sneak blood into my drink?"

"twice. A third time gives you near immortality, limited vampiric powers, and such"

She stared at him.

"You want me to drink your blood again?"

"yes. "

She thought about that one for a long time. I mean a LONG time.

"Can you maybe not lie to me in the process?"

He nodded "If I cannot be honest with you, about something I will tell you. "

She seemed to relax a little bit.

"Thank you."

"you can have the hot rod" he smiled "and I will teach you to turn yourself invisible to mortal eyes"

She shrugged.

"I don't care so much about invisible. Hot rod, I'll take."

"I can show you how to see that last things the dead saw, and make you stronger, faster, more impervious to harm.... "

"why don't you tell me what you want from me?" he said gently

She had to think about that. Very hard.

"I do not know what I want from you. You've been lying to me about who you are."

"I am with the government. Not just any you would know. There are three main vampire factions. Mine are called the Anarch and I am their leader here"

She shook her head, frowned and shrugged.

"You say words. They mean nothing to me."

"The problem is, first I think I need you to believe what I am saying about the undead and the supernatural world. So we need to establish this scientifically for you. Do you have tools you trust to monitor life signs; that you believe I cannot manipulate if you lay out the conditions and location? "

She held up her hands.

"I believe that you believe it. That should be enough, no?"

"For the moment" he sighed "there will come a time when it won't "

She nodded.

"But that time is not now. Where do we go from here, my friend?"

"Tonight, you tell me how and where I can help you setup a lab"
