Training for Friends (Teddy) - Sunflower Beach

Cass showed up on Teddy's doorstep as planned. Her hair was pulled back in a braid and she was in a black tank top and black yoga pans with her red ballet flats. As usual, she had a giant bag over her shoulder. She knocked gently on the door.

"It's Cass!"

"Door's open!" the blond's voice called from inside, the faint sound of music pouring out through the nearby open window.

In the Rose walked, leaving her shoes near the door, as well as her bag. And then she was headed off in the direction of Teddy's voice.

"Hey, sugar," she smiled to her. "Looking good this evening. Diggin' the music," she chuckled.

Teddy could be found in the living room, a bit of the furniture pushed out of the way as she greeted the rose from an upside down position, standing on her hands. She was currently dressed in a pink and white tank top that had slid down due to gravity and which was only partially covering the sports bra underneath, the plaid pj pants having slipped down as well, making it look like she was wearing baggy shorts at the moment.
"Thought that sounded like you" the blond smiled, gently easing her feet back onto the ground and standing upright as she straightened her clothes.

She raised her brow.

"You though?! Teddy!" Cass gave her a slightly admonishing look. "The wonders of Obfuscate can make a potential enemy look and sound like people you know and trust. Please, please be careful?"

Waaaaaaay paranoid Cassiel was waaaaaaaay paranoid these nights.

"Mm.." she smiled somewhat apologetically, rubbing her arm for a moment. "Yeah, you're right. I ought to get better at locking the door actually" you know, with drugged up goths running around among other things.

"But, no harm, no foul right?" apparently what Cass had said had hit a button, which was strange really considering how laid back the blond always.

"No harm, no foul," she agreed and gave Teddy a smile before pulling her in for a hug. "Sorry... I don't mean to panic. You okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine" she smiled, wrapping her arms around the Rose and returning the hug. "I'm just a bit out of it is all. A friend of mine got hurt and they haven't caught the guy who did it yet. So you're right. I do need to be more careful" the blond said as she pulled back gently and brushed her fingers through her short curls.

"Oh no!" She frowned, looking worried. "Is your friend okay?"

"Don't know yet..." she said with a gentle smile. "He's had some surgery done, but I'm to sure of the extent of his injuries"
the blond ruffled her curls for a moment before turning and heading towards the kitchen.
"It'll be okay, he'll be okay" she said softly. "He's a marine. He's tough"

"Let me know if there is anything I can do, yeah?"

Cass followed Teddy into the kitchen, but didn't feel it necessary to push the subject.

"Medwyn out again tonight?"

Washing off her hands in the sink, the Caitiff grabbed a towel and nodded with a smile at the Rose. She couldn't go around being worried and depressed over what had happened, it did no one any good, so she was trying to keep her mood up.
"Yeah, he said he was gonna be out for a bit" she said. "Reckon he'll be back in a few hours"

"Oh, well then. Girl time!" She laughed softly and she pushed a stray strand of hair behind her ear. "So, whatcha got planned? I can start teaching her Presence if you want."

"Sure, why not? A bit of mental flexing might be the thing I need now that I've done the muscle flexing" the blond smirked, flexing said muscles. "Can work on the Chimestry too, it's a mental discipline so I'm gonna guess you'll pick up on it soon"

"Hey, it sounds like a plan," she smiled. "Come on, let's get comfortable, huh?" She pulled Teddy by the hand back into the living room and onto the couch.

"So, the first thing I'll teach you is how to grab people's attention. Sounds easy enough, right?"

She pulled her feet, she wasn't even wearing socks atm, onto the sofa, tucking her legs into a lotus position with her hands resting at her ankles as she gave Cassiel a nod.
"Hey, I'm usually pretty good at that, though I'll admit, it could be nice with a way of getting people's attention without jumping on a table and wave my arms" Teddy snickered, knowing damn well how that looked.

"Yeah," she giggled. "Waving your arms doesn't really work with your own flair and charisma so much as giving people the indication that you're having a medical emergency."

Cass sat on the floor across from Teddy, grinning at the idea.

"It's all about the way you move, you look... The way you carry yourself. All of it adds up. You take your natural charisma, add a little kindred spice-- aka, power of the blood-- and WHAM! All the sudden? You're the center of the universe. So, let's see some of that natural charisma, huh? Whatcha got for me?"

Charisma? Teddy made a bit of a face that seemed to say "uuuhm...".
Right, how were you suppose to channel that anyways? At least, how were you suppose to channel that without words or moves or something?

Teddy took a deep breath and tried to simply... convey her presence there though, well, her presence there heh. She could turn heads if she wanted to, she just never did so silently. Silently was difficult.

Meanwhile... Out came the nail file.

"Come on, Teddy, command my attention," she said it encouragingly. That first step in a discipline? Always the hardest. "Move about it you have to. Add your own flair to it."

"YeahtellmeaboutitI'veneverlearnedanydisciplinefromanyoneelsebefore" came the mutterd reply from one very concentrated Caitiff that was trying to figure out how to make this whole "command my attention" thing work without adding something to it.
Maybe if she tried to picture it like she did her illusions? Maybe if she tried picturing her presence as a sort of aura which had to reach out to affect someone... hey! She was trying.

Every little bit helped. It really did. And if she had to picture herself like that? Well, if she believed herself good enough to look at, others would to.

"Hey, it takes practice. I just learned my first discipline from someone else. Well, a little bit, anyway. It's tough, it really is."

She smiled.

"Just keep focusing, sugar. You'll get it. And I promise, the second phase of Presence is much, much easier."

"So you say" she smirked and then? Then almost as if seemingly remembering something decided to flash Cass one brig bright smile. Because she knew she could make people look at her when she smiled, she'd been told that when she really smiled it could be felt and that feeling? Maybe that feeling would be something that could be carried across if she focused.

Cass, having been grinding away on her nails suddenly stopped and looked up, her head tilted to the side. She was focused on Teddy.

Was it working? It might be. The Caitiff's bright blue eyes focused on those of the toreador, still with that bright smile which she was trying to turn into a kind of tangible feeling.
Teddy had big eyes when she stared like that, trying to measure the look on the Rose's face.

Big, beautiful blue eyes? Bright smile? Teddy seemed to really be able to work that angle. Cass wasn't entranced, no, but... there was definitely something about the Caitiff...

"Uh... Okay... Let's, let's try again." Cass pulled herself onto the sofa. "Get up and leave the room and come back in. Let's see if you can pull it off again."
