This is Very Awkward (Grace) - Panther's Lair

She nodded.

"They also called Greer. I dinna ken who th' others were. I also dinna ken why they tol' Ethan who ye are, 'cept tha' they be assholes."

She shook her head.

"He is... Ethan is... very... scientifically minded. He wouldn't have believed anything that they said, or even bothered to listen, until they gave him some sort of proof that they knew what they were talking about. They... they know that. And, I'm sure, they couldn't turn down an opportunity to cause him pain."

For that alone, she was filled with disgust.

She nodded.

"Aye. Tha' sounds like 'em. How much did ye hear? Did they gi' him proof?"

She was quiet.

"They told him... they told him to look into my eyes. It's the one thing that didn't change."

"Wha' d' ye think his reaction will be?"

She seemed to slump a little more.

"I don't know. But I'm fairly certain he'll be angry. Very, very angry."

She nodded.

"Granny's here. Anything ye need, I'm here."

She nodded.

"I don't... I don't blame him. I really don't. I just... don't know what to do, at this point."

She was petting the woman's hair gently.

"Aye. I ken tha'. Wha' can I do?"

She shook her head.

"I don't know. I wish I did. I guess, for now, nothing."

She nuzzled the woman.

"Lass, I'll d' anythin' ye need. An' ye can stay here any time ye need."

That did it. She buried her face against Grace's shoulder, still shaking and gripped the woman tighter. Fortitude wins.

"Thank you. Thank you, Grace."

She didn't squeak about the strength of the hold. In fact, it seemed that was what she had been going for.

"O'course lass. Ye're family. Ye mean e'erything t' me."

It broke her. Literally broke her. There were no tears, but the sobs came then. She was choked and hoarse with emotion, her grip on the Gangrel a vice.

"Thank you."

She understood. So she held on, and started to sing, softly, songs of comfort from the old country.

It took at least ten minutes before she started to calm again. At least that long before the shaking began to grow less violent. But she still held to the Gangrel.

"I'm sorry I couldn't tell you."

"Hush, darling. I forgive ye."

She nodded again, finally letting go of the Pict to step back a little.

"Okay. Okay. I'm okay."

She let the woman back away, but took her hands.

"Aye, lass. Ye will be."

She smiled and nodded. Then she tilted her head.

"I should go. I've got... an entire domain close to falling apart on me."

She nodded.

"I'll commute in with you. Tis my domain, too."

She nodded.

"I'm game. Let's go keep some people safe."

She nodded.

"Cause they'll all be idiots wi'out us."

"Some of them will be idiots even with us."

She nodded.

"Aye."
