This is Very Awkward (Grace) - Panther's Lair

It didn't take her too long to actually get to the house. She was frowning as she knocked on the door... simply because it needed to be done.

Well, she was in. And she opened the door.

"Aye?"

Her brows rose at the odd greeting.

"Got a minute?"

She nods.

"Come on in, lass."

She stepped inside, though she didn't look for a place to sit or anything of the sort. Her eyes were on Grace.

"What's going on, Grace?"

She pointed between the two of them.

"Because this? Isn't working."

She raised a brow.

"Wha' d' ye mean?"

She tilted her head.

"You've been acting funny around me. And I want to know why."

She sighed.

"Because I could nay decide wha' I thought 'bout a decision ye made."

Up went the arched brow.

"Which decision?"

Because God knows that it could be one in a thousand.

Again with the big sigh.

"T' keep who ye are a secret."

Not exactly what she was expecting. Unstaking Victor? Sure. The relationship with Estaban? Sure. To look into the Jazz thing even though she was fairly certain that it was the Carnival? Definitely. She blinked back surprise and her other brow arched upward.

"Not following, Grace."

She sighed.

"I'm sorry, lass."

And the answer didn't help much. She arched the other brow.

"For what?"

"For treatin' ye different now I ken ye're me own blood."

She paused. Tilted her head.

Several looks went across her face from confusion to surprise to shock to more confusion.

A beat. Wait for it...

"Ahh! Will someone just tell me what the fuck is going on?!"

Followed by the stomping of a foot.

Okay, fine. Blunt it is.

"I ken ye be me own Griselda."

Blunt usually turned out well when you're dealing with a Scot. Or a redhead. If it's a Scottish redhead, you're golden. Granted, her hair was blonde now, but that's beside the point.

"... Oh."

Really. That was it. Just the confusion clearing, and the one-word declaration that meant that the confusion was gone.

She opened her arms to the woman.

"Can I hold ye?"

There was a moment's hesitation.

"You sure you want to?"

She nodded.

"Ye're me blood. Clan dinna matter."

She didn't buy that. Well, specifically, she knew that Grace loved her, no matter what. That wasn't the issue. Her clan did matter, it always had, and it was only now that she even began to realize just how much id had always mattered.

She stepped into Grace's arms, her eyes closing. It was a gesture of trust, that she could wrap her arms around the Pict and shut her eyes without any sort of major fear, though.

Her grip was firm and motherly, not too tight, but not letting go anytime soon, unless she caused discomfort. As she held the woman, she began to sing a pictish lullaby.

She smiled, letting Grace hold her for as long as she wanted. Though there was one thing that was bugging her...

"How did you find out?"

She sighed.

"James tol' me."

No sense in lying to her. And better to know it came from a friend.

She sighed. Really sighed, leaning her forehead against Grace's shoulder.

"Who else did he tell?"
