Grace had been awake for all of three minutes when her phone rang.

She answers on the third ring.

"Aye?"

The voice sounded odd. Like it maybe went through some sort of device to scramble the voice, though not quite like that. More, the voice had no sex to it. There were distinctly female properties to it, distinctly male ones -- it was as if there were several people speaking at once, though they all said the same thing, at the same time, with the same inflection. It was creepy.

"Gráinne Ó Doinn of Clan Gangrel?"

"Who be askin'?"

"Who I am is unimportant. I have a message for you, a warning, though names should not be mentioned at any point. It would draw unwanted attention if they were."

"And yet ye use mine."

"Because you are not an enemy."

"Can ye gi' me anythin' as t' who ye are?"

"If I do, are you going to hang up the telephone before the message is delivered?"

"Nay, I'll hear ye out. But I'll be hangin' up if ye'll nay tell me who ye are."

"And that would be unfortunate, though at least we have tried. Listen carefully. We are the stones at the top of the pyramid. Does that tell you who we are?"

"Aye. Speak ye're piece, though I have nay an idea wha' ye could have t' say t' me."

"Listen carefully."

There was a brief pause.

"The dragon that dwells is a snake within the grass. It is time. It should be done. Run the snake from the reeds now, chop off its head, before it is too late."

Beat.

"Could ye be more cryptic?"

"The riddle is necessary, or we would be more specific. Listen again."

Another pause.

"The dragon that dwells is a snake within the grass. It is time. It should be done. Run the snake from the reeds now, chop off its head, before it is too late."

"Understood. Can ye gi' me anythin' else?"

"The blue dragon would see the world awash and running red with blood."

She frowned.

"Thank ye."

And she hangs up.

The connection was severed.
