He shrugged.

"I think Malachi was trying to get to me. He just found out I was with a woman. He was pouty."

He laughed. "Naw. Hon, he's a little jealous of ya."

He shook his head.

"Why in the world would he be jealous?"

He smiled. "You're prettier'n he is. An' he doesn't like ta share much."

He smiled.

"We only shared once. He has you all to his lonesome. Plus our sharing was his idea. If I knew it bothered him I would have. Your nice but I like to keep my family happy."

He smiled again. "Ya don't understand. He don't mind sharin' me."

He blinked for a moment.

"Wait, he was jealous of having to share my attentions? But..."

Things clicked.

"Well damn. Poor guy hasn't even kissed me. He spent the whole night watching and hasn't seen me nude since. I almost feel sorry for him."

He laughed. "He figured he had a better chance of gettin' ya naked if I came along. He was right."

He laughed.

"We are clan. I would have stripped naked for him if he just asked. In fact I would have done alot if he just asked. But then that takes some of the fun away.

He shrugged. "What ya do ain't none of my business, hon."

He shook his head.

"I am just saying about that first night. Things are different now."

His brow rose. "What, he should try so ya can turn him down an' make him feel worse 'bout himself?"

He shook his head.

"Jim, I said back at the beginning. At the time I gave him several hints he could join us. Now is different. You know I dont want to hurt his feelings."

He shook his head. "How'm I supposed ta know what ya want? I ain't you."

He shook his head.

"I thought you knew me at least a little. You are right though, you are not me. Do I strike you as a cruel or thoughtless man?"

He shook his head. "Naw. Just a selfish one. Ain't nothin' wrong with it. We're all selfish."

He smiled.

"By your definitions maybe I am selfish. I can't argue with you on that. Though I do try to be otherwise."

He shook his head. "Ain't a bad thing. Just is what it is, hon."

He smiled.

"I know. I accept who I am, but at the same time I try and be better."

He laughed. "Good plan if ya can manage it."

He shrugs.

"As we talked about it, I am trying. And while I admit to being selfish, I am not so selfish as to betray those I love or my friends."

He chuckled. "Nobody ever plans ta betray 'em. It just happens sometimes. Ain't a commentary on you, hon. Just tha way people are."

He shook his head.

"Maybe not. Still I have avoided it this far I am going to continue."

He nodded. "Like I said. I wish ya luck."

He smiled.

"I will take what luck I can get."
