End of Second Night - Clanmate Chat

She did not seem to wait for him as she slid out of Ethan's room and into his own. Since it was just a transformed library, it wasn't that difficult. She found a desk, slid on top of it to sit, and waited, patiently, for him to join her.

He comes in closing the door behind him. "With all due respect Regent, why do we have a Brujah and a Nosferatu living in the Chantry?" His voice is steady, callous, and calculated.

Her brows rose. But she smiled.

"Several reasons. But the one that should have been obvious is loyalty. Not to Clan Tremere, obviously. They are Brujah and Nosferatu. But their loyalty is valuable to the Clan, even if that loyalty is to myself specifically. Ensuring that that loyalty remains constant is part and parcel of that big picture." She tilted her head. "Not to mention, there is the safety aspect. Both the Nosferatu and the Brujah are more than adept at skills which neither you nor I possess. As such, they are handy to have around. While inferior to our own skills and talents, Apprentice Stryker, they serve yet another purpose. They are more than willing to rush into the fray. Ergo; shields. We have them."

Incognito nods slowly, "I didn't want to jump to any assumptions. I greatly appreciate your taking the time to answer my question." He bows slightly.

She smiled, patiently. "Not a problem, Apprentice Stryker. After all, I would not be made Regent of this Chantry if I didn't have some good, old-fashioned common sense. Also, it's good that you asked for this private chat. While I do not think either James or Ethan stupid enough to try and ... eavesdrop ... on our conversations, accidents do happen. So, as such, you will be hearing from me soon on how we are to have our Clan meetings without interference or the worry of being overheard."

Eldridge nods, "Very well. I appreciate your taking time to explain. I have to admit it had me very curious."

She grinned.

"Most things I do make absolutely no sense until the logic is explained. It's okay. I expect it."

She tilted her head. "Was there anything else, Apprentice?"

"No my Regent."

She bowed, to him, and smiled.

"Very good. Enjoy your evening, Apprentice Stryker."
