Time to Talk (Jack) - Jack's Attic

He turned as she moved past him.
"Abby..." the movement of meaning to reach for her resulted in him knocking the chair over, the jacket that had been draped over it falling onto the floor along with the chair as a small black box fell out of the pocket and skidded across the floor, stopping as it bumped into her foot.

The pill bottle she'd picked up was easily recognizable as medication, his heart meds to be exact.

She was too busy looking at the bottle to notice the box just yet. "Ye changed your mind?" she asked, not looking at him

Shit...

"Eve's been away for a bit" he said. "It happens, Gangrels tends to wander" and he said it was if it wasn't all that unexpected. Even if deep down? He had been surprised. She would've said something, which meant something had come up no doubt.

"It's fine" he walked over to fetch the box before she could notice it.

She notices him grab something but doesn't see what it is. She finally glances over at him. "She jus' left?"

He didn't really have anywhere to put it so he just kept it palmed as he lifted his other hand to take the pill bottle.
"Something must've happened or she would've told me what it was. Besides, like I said, her Clan tends to get struck by wander lust" and it would seem he was trying to shrug it off.

"So wha' does tha' mean?" she asks quietly, taking his hand when he takes the bottle

Jack shrugged his shoulder's lightly with that same kind of quiet smile as before.
"Nothing" he said, pulling his hand away gently to place both the pill bottle and the small black box back on the shelf before closing the cabinet door again. "Just means that in the meanwhile, I do what I've always done"

"Means I take my pills" he said simply, moving back a step to give her some space again. "I haven't had blood in a while, so my heart's starting to feel like it used to" Jack shrugged.

"Which means wha'......." she asks, tears starting to form in her eyes

Jack being Jack, shook his head and offered her a reassuring smile.
"Doesn't have to mean anything. I'm a tough bastard" he'd managed this far, surely he could manage a while longer. "Never had the decency to know when to roll over and give up"

"Realistically" she says, taking a step towards him

Realistically?
"I don't know" he said plainly, because he didn't know. He'd already told her what prognosis he'd been given earlier.

She walks to him, wrapping her arms around his waist if he allows

He seemed to be a bit uncertain about what to do as she did that, hesitating briefly before putting his arms around her and letting out a quiet sigh.
"It's alright. Really" funny how he ended up being the one to comfort... "It's nothing to worry about"

"I'm not lying. I'm really shit at lying. I'm telling you it's nothing to worry about because it is nothing to worry about" he said with a small sigh, despite the reassuring smile. "Don't worry about things that can't be changed. There's no point in that. I've lived like this my entire life"

"Jus'....... stop wi' tha positive talkin'" she replies, hugging him tighter. It wasn't just for her comfort, but an attempt at apologizing to him as well. "We can fix this though....."

"She'll come back" sorry, he was insisting on being positive it would seem as he petted her on the head gently with a calloused hand. His other arm still around her. "There isn't anything to fix, I'll simply wait and see"

"Then I'll cross that bridge when it comes" he said simply.

"I don't know what you mean" he said, sounding a bit confused. "I simply keep on living as I've always done. I take my meds and wait. What else am I suppose to do?"

He chuckled, he couldn't help it.
"Yeah, right. And give up on her just like that?" Jack shook his head. "That's not happening. I trust her. She'll be back"
