Growing Pains (Lorelei) - Under the Big Top

Moaned a little and blinked pushing herself to the side . . . She arched a brow at her stomach as she held her hand on it . . .Hmm, this was odd . . .She moved into a sitting position with her pillow behind her as she felt hot . . . Could this . . .No . . . Surely it was those fake labor things . . . She wasn't due for another week . . .She looked to the side and glanced toward Alex . . .

She bit her bottom lip and she gently stroked Alex's hair out of her face . . . She was so gorgeous . . . How was she lucky to have found her . . . She leaned best she could . . .

"My love . . ."She whispered . . . "My Love . . .Wake up . . ."

She slept light. She always slept light, due to the nightmares that plagued her. She sat upright when Lorelei touched her, blinking away sleep.

"Hmm? What is it?"

"Sorry, didn't mean to wake you . . . But . . . I feel weird . . ." She was honest as she took Alex's hand and gently placed it on her belly . . . Her stomach would get soft the really hard . . . "I don't think I'm in labor."

She frowned, letting Lorelei guide her hand.

"You don't think so? Or you know you're not?"

She frowned herself. "I really don't know, only because this feels like something but then it could be fake labor you know. . .I think we should wait a bit." She smiled a little scooting up.

She smiled at that, her hand gently caressing Lorelei's belly.

"All right. Would you like me to make you some cocoa?"

She smiled putting her hand on Alex's then thought a moment.

"Actually, some ice cold water would be good."

She patted Lorelei's hand, then leaned over to brush a tender kiss over the blonde's forehead.

"Be right back, then."

She slid out of bed, her pink and black pajamas rustling as she made her way toward the small kitchen.

She smiled at Alexandera kiss to her forehead she sat up as she watched alex head out the door. She was feeling hot as she moved to get off the bed, when the discomfort got a bit higher and faster she gripped the side of the bed. She took in a deep breath as she called to Alex.

"ALEX!" Her knees had buckled as she hit the ground beside the bed. She took in a deep breath as she breathed slowly trying to keep her mind controlled. She pictured what she could that made her get through the discomfort.

She came hurrying back into the room, glass of ice water in her hand. Seeing Lorelei on the floor, she sat down the glass of water and rushed to the blonde, holding out her hands to help the other woman up.

"What? What's wrong?"

She took alex's hand to help her up a bit. "It's not fake." She pointed to the phone. "I need the phone." She slowed her breathing as she kept herself calm. "I need to call mom."

She helped the blonde up and back into bed. Then she handed Lorelei the phone with a smile. Calm as you please.

"Here you go."

Nodded as she smiled taking it. "Thank you." She dialed her mother and waited. . . Gah, got the answering machine. SHe sighed "Mom, I'm in labor come to my home, please." She then hung up and sighed. "I should call buck." She glanced to Alex. "How do you feel about that?"

She shrugged.

"It's his baby. Call him if you want."

She nodded as she sighed as she leaned over and grabbed her cell and text buck. She then looked at Alex and cringed a little.

"Wow, didn't think this would go so . . .mmmmm." She gripped the phone hard. "Fast." She breathed slowly.

She climbed back onto the bed, urging Lorelei to lay back to be more comfortable. She smoothed hair out of the woman's forehead and smiled.

"I admit, I don't know jack or shit about delivering a baby. You can't get your mom? Who else should I call?"

Buck was fast. Really fast. And they wouldn't even hear a car. All they heard was a knock on the door.

She heard the knock and gave Lorelei a smile.

"Hold that thought for just a second."

Then she got off of the bed and plodded back toward the living room, Loki at her side as she answered the door.

"Can I help you?"

Don't blame her. She's never met Buck.

He looked at the woman and it clicked. Oh, and yeah, the young man looked hispanic, short and worried.

"I'm Buck. Is Lorelei all right?"

The woman was by no means short. And she had a damned tiger at her side, one that she reached down to scratch on the top of the head. Apparently letting the big cat know that it was all right.

"Oh. Hi, Buck. I'm Alex. Yeah, she's all right -- want to come in? I'm just finding out if she wants me to call someone since her mom's not answering the phone."

She leaned back and smiled at the touch.

"Naw, mom be here . . .Don't worry." She smiled softly as she arched a brow at the door. Dante who had been peering in the room got up with a whimper crawled on to the bed next to her feet and put his head on her feet. Dante and the tiger had gotten a long as best they good, predator and predator or prey depending on how the tiger felt.

She shut the door behind Buck and led the way back into the bedroom. She didn't hesitate at all, just walked back over to the bed and slid onto it, tucking her feet up underneath her in a lotus position. She smiled at Lorelei and patted her hand gently.

She wasn't in the least threatened by Buck's presence. She also wasn't getting in the way if Lorelei wanted her privacy with Buck. She just knew these things usually took time.

There would be a knock and if the door again.
