"Corporate law."

She laughed.

"It's not as complicated as it might sound. It's boring to a lot of people, though."

"I know that law confuses me most of the time. I wouldn't be able to take the workload, either. Much better with languages."

She smiled.

"Good thing I like tedium." She led Elizabeth inside and toward the admissions office, where the counselors usually kept their offices. "Let's see if he's in."

Inside, she knocked an on open office door. The man was inside, but the girl smiled at him and knocked anyway.

"Professor? I was wondering if you could help my friend out with her schedule."

She came up behind and waved shyly. She truly looked a little lost.

The professor, a balding man with glasses perched on his nose looked up and smiled.

"Hi, Gabby. Sure I can."

She came forward and held out her hand to him.

"Elizabeth Holand, sir."

He rose and shook her hand.

She sat down and pulled out her notebook.

"I want to Major in Linguistics. I have a good base in the Western European languages, and want to branch into the Eastern, and work towards Embassy work."

He nodded and gave her a smile.

"Leaning toward government work. Well, then we'll have to make sure you have some basic law classes in there as well as the language courses. What languages can you currently speak fluently?"
