She sat on a blanket under a tree, course schedule in front of her, chewing on a pencil. The note book she had was open to a page that she had scribbled on. Several classes had been written down, then crossed out.

Real life was hard.

A girl walked up next to her. She didn't say anything. She sat under a nearby tree and pulled a bright pink notebook from her bag, along with a textbook. Inside the notebook, she started to write.

She was silent in companionship for a bit, then looked over with a smile.

"Hi, I'm Liz."

The girl looked up from where she was writing and smiled.

"Gabby. You new?"

"Trying to figure out classes and workload."

She held out her hand for the books and papers.

"What are you majoring in?"

"I want to Major in something related to Languages."

"Any particular languages?"

"Hm. What is it that you're trying to accomplish? Just being a linguist?"

"Perhaps work over seas."

She started to rise to her feet.
