Christmas night (open) - Darius and Crew

No, you never do. When she got the box open, she would find a dress for her.

She lifted it out of the box and smiled.

"Oh, it's so beautiful."

He smiled.

"I thought it would look nice with your eyes."

She beamed up at him as she hugged it to her chest.

"I can't wait to dance in it."

He smiled.

"A dress like that? Made for a waltz."

She nodded.

"You're turn."

And she grabbed a small box with his name on it.

He grinned. Taking the box from her, he tore into it with the same enthusiasm he showed before.

She watched his face as he opened the box and found the ring inside.

He stared at it for a full minute. Then he pulled it out of the box, slipping it onto his finger.

"This is wonderful, Elizabeth. Beautiful."

She smiled and curled into his chest, happy.

"I'm glad you like it."

He smiled and kissed her forehead.

"I do like it. Very much."

She was in heaven, right where she was.

"Is there more for me?"

He laughed.

"Oh, yes. Several more, in fact."

He reached under the tree to bring out a small box for her as well, decorated with snowmen.

She grinned and took it in her hands, ripping the paper off to find the treasure inside.

Inside, she found a beautiful set of hair combs. He was watching her for her reaction closely.

She was in pure awe as she stared at them. She reached into the box to run her fingers lightly over the tops of the combs.

"Oh."

He smiled at her.

"You like them?"

She looked up at him with tears in her eyes.

"I love them."

He smiled and ran a hand over her hair.

"I'm glad."

She leaned up and kissed him softly.

"You spoil me."

He laughed softly.

"I do try."

She pointed to a rather large box.

"That one next."

He laughed and reached for it, tearing off the paper with absolutely no regard for saving paper. He never saw a reason to; nobody ever actually re-uses the paper. They say they will, but they never do. At any rate, he tore into his present with a grin.

Inside the box was a carefully stacked and tied together set of books. They were all psychology books based around diseases of the mind. All hard cover.

He lifted them, each one, reading the spines of the books.

"Oh, Elizabeth. These are wonderful."

He meant it. He loved books... and especially loved books on psychology.
