The Praetor's new armor - Lowrey Manor

Johnathon knocked on Christine's door while holding a wrapped package

It wasn't answered by the butler. Instead, it was answered by a rather rumpled teenager.

"What you want?"

There was the sounds of a party going on in the background.

"Your manners leave a lot to be desired" he said dryly. "Miss Lowery, is she available?"

The kid nodded.

"You one of hers?"

"Yes, I am."

"You know where the office is?"

The kid obviously wanted to go back to the party.

"I do " he smiled "go have fun. "

He nodded and waved him in, waiting for him to enter before closing the door and heading back to the ballroom.

John headed up to the office and knocked on her door.

"Come!"

Johnathon came in and smiled while passing the heavy package to her "Good evening praetor. I have your armor "

She smiled and rose.

"Mr. Grant. Thank you."

"You are welcome. You have been accepting and supporting. It is the least I can do. " (5 successes ) "I hope you never have to use this for its intended purpose "

She opened the package, and smiled, running her hands along the chain.

"It's beautiful. And I, too, hope I never have to use it for it's intended purpose."

She looked up at him.

"You know, there are those that don't understand why we work so well together."

He smiled at her compliment. "Oh? Why is that ? History is full of men as myself who worked closely with people as you. Ultimately, society needs people like me, as much as I need people like you. "

She laughed.

"Yes, but you are an Anarch, and these days, people only see the Rabble. They do not understand the differences."

"Ah. Well, they will have to learn the difference then, now won't they ?"

She nodded.

"I like that you understand me so well."

He blinked. "I do? I understand you are in fact a scary as all fuck ancient on a path of enlightenment I do not understand, who has been around longer than most Kindred, and is intelligent enough to understand that it takes all types to make the world go round. Hell I don't doubt you are Roman, or proto Roman, which means your culture is the one mine partly stands on in the first place."

She laughed.

"Exactly."

"I think I will go back to being mildly intimidated of the giant on whose shoulders I stand on" he chuckled "It's a bit disconcerting when I think about just how much you have seen and experienced. It must have been amusing for you to see the American colonies debating democracy and the Republic and then to see the same go through Europe. Old, old arguments revived and tweaked for modern times."

She nodded.

"It was. Even more amusing was watching them fail to prevent another Anarch Revolt."

He chuckled at that "Pretty good indication the system isn't working well when there is enough discontent to have a revolution. Too bad I missed that one."

She shook her head.

"Be glad you slept through it. There was much lost on both sides."

"I'm sure there was. Is there where the perception of Anarchs as common rabble have come from?"
