"Oh... Yeah, I mean..." She scratched her head. "When I find out when it is and if I actually can finish what she asked me to do as far as some photos went. That whole um... not being here for almost a month... kind of puts a hitch in things..."

She swung her feet over the edge of the chair and got up with a light nod of her head and a gentle smile.
"Hey, I'm sure she understands. Hell, i just finished my piece for her and I've been here the whole time heh. At least you're usually better at working a little faster than I am" Teddy said somewhat embarrassed over how long she'd had to work.

"Well, to be fair, you work with metal and stones and all manner of things. I'm really just good with paper," she chuckled.

"I can't do what you do" Teddy shrugged and chewed on her lip for a moment. "I uhm.. I haven't showed anyone yet" she jabbed a thumb over her shoulder towards the stairs leading to the second floor. "I probably should wait and let Bella see it first though.." you know, she really would like someone's opinion on it before she went to see the Harpy. Rather than end up making a fool of herself if it turned out it wasn't as good as she thought it was.

"Up to you sugar. I understand either way, promise," though her eyes? Wheeeeee!!! Show me!!!!!

She linked her fingers behind her back, chewed on her lip again and then nodded towards the stairs before turning on her heel and disappearing upstairs and into a small room which looked like it had been converted into a miniature workshop/office. Given, she wouldn't drag anything that could explode or catch on fire or any chemicals into the house, but she could do some work from home, so a miniature workshop it was.

"Here..." she crouched down and opened a drawer, picking out a black jewelery box made to hold a necklace that was then handed to Cassiel. "What do you think?"

The somewhat untraditional piece of jewelery consists of what appears to be a long chain set with a metal scarab, oval in shape, about 4 cm at it's longest point.
The chain is set with edged links rather than rounded one, causing it to glimmer when it moves, every fourth link having been set with a small sapphire. In addition, at the point closes to where the chain connects to the scarab, the links appears to have been made from copper gold and bronze, giving it a discreet colour shading that translates into colder colours as the warmth is replaced by what appears to be white gold and silver as you get further away from the point of origin.

The scarab in itself is a true work of ar and has a highly polished outer shell made from gold, though it's when that is opened to reveal the wings and inner workings underneath it that it true nature is brought into view. The wings themselves are made of silver and covered in blue sapphires, the same cold colour repeated in the mechanical insects eyes that are also set with the same blue gems.
When the wings are spread the insides of the scarab, which consists of an intricate clockwork, can be seen. Each cog and gear carefully crafted from bronze, steel and copper to repeat the colours used in the rest of the creation.

What makes the jewelery special though? Truly special? Is the fact that it's alive.
The scarab will will hang onto the fabric of whatever it is placed on with its legs and move every now and then to find itself a new perch. It will stretch its wings and flex them as if it was a real insect, causing the gems to glimmer, the working clockwork construction to be revealed as it moves and display all of the little details that has been put into its design and careful construction.

A living work of art, a truly expensive looking one at that, created as a jewelery that in itself, will continue to change how it appears with how it moves and where it decides to sit.

What did she think?

Cass wasn't thinking. Her eyes glazed over with that dreamy look that was almost lustful. She didn't touch the piece, but she swayed where she stood with a smile on her face. Happy and oblivious to all else.

The metal bug lazily flexed its wings, wandered about a bit and then settled again as the Caitiff leaned over and told it to go to sleep before nudging the box lid closed again and tilting her head and her upper body to the side, looking up at the Toreador.

"Hey, sleeepy head?"

"Hmm?"

She blinked, starting to come out of her haze. "Oh, Teddy, it's... it's wonderful!"

Teddy puffed her cheeks and let out well, a puff of air before chuckling.
"Good, good. I never know if it's good or just a mental melt down that's going on when a Toreador does that" she smiled at her friend. "I hope Bella will like it. I know she ordered it before any of this happened, but I feel like I owe her. Big time. So hope she might be willing to accept it as a gift" and never mind the fact that Teddy knew exactly how many thousands of dollar that little bug was worth, she wanted to do something nice in return and it was the best she could come up with.

"Knowing Bella? She'll adore it," she beamed. "And she'll adore you even more, too." Cass tugged Teddy on the arm and pulled the Caitiff toward her. "Honestly, you've haven't a thing to worry about where that little guy is concerened."

She was easily pulled in.
"Thank you, I really really really hope she likes it. It costs enough that's for damn sure. I haven't made anything with gems in a long time, and as if the gold price wasn't bad enough you add in gems and suddenly you go through the roof" she rolled her eyes. "I would never wear this! I'd be afraid of loosing it" she laughed.

She laughed. "You see how much jewelry I own, right? The wedding ring? Might as well weld it to my finger, just to be safe," she winked.

"I could give it like claws or something so it'll hold on when you try to remove it" she laughed, giving the Rose a hug.

"But the welding would only be painful once!" She laughed pulling her in for a cuddly hug.

The blond giggled again and gave her another squeeze of her arms around the other woman's waist.
"I really hope Alex says yes. I'd so love to do this for you" Teddy smiled at her. "And I am so looking forward to going to your wedding" she added softly. "And trust me alright? Medwyn will too. You just mm, you just tell him what you told me when you feel the time is right and you'll see. He doesn't hate you. He's a good man and if anything he cares about you"

"He will," she smiled. "And I know you're right. About Medwyn. I know you are," she squeezed a little tighter, though Cass could never squeeze so hard that it hurt her. "I just... want to give him some time. It's only fair."

The blond leaned in and rested her head on her friend's shoulder.
"We got time" she smiled. "I'm pretty sure you'll feel lighter once you've talked with him though so don't wait too long. No point carrying around guilt and fear anymore than what is necessary. Specially when there's no reason for it" Teddy pulled back to look her in the eyes. "Yeah?"

"You are your logic. How'd you get to be so smart, anyway?" She smiled softly.

The lighthearted shrug of her shoulders was accompanied by a slight tilt of her head.
"By being so utterly stupid in so many other ways" she said simply. "Have to make up for it somehow"

"Stupid my ass... How are you stupid in other ways?" Poke, poke...

"I didn't for a moment stop and consider the fact that the Regency elevators got cameras?" the slightly blushing blond admitted with a low chuckle.
And that was just one of her most recent "ops".

Cass' brow rose as she blinked. Maybe has referenced it earlier? But... well, Cass has been fairly oblivious for the past week. She had been doing a lot of smiling and nodding, just so that no one thought her too far off. But...

"What are you talking about?"

"Huh? You don't...?" oh look, now she blushed all over again. The Caitiff's control of her own blood truly did stuck. "You didn't read the Harpy report did you?" oh she uhm yeah right...

The blond lifted a hand to rub the back of her own neck as she chewed on her lip again.
"We uhm, kinda got caught on tape... fooling around in the regency elevator..." she muttered before adding in. "Miniskirt..." Which probably told her that it hadn't just been a little bit of fooling around if it was enough to make the usually not so shy blond turn proper crimson red.

Oh, ouch... oh... oh no wonder she was blushing.

"Oh, sugar, I'm so sorry," she grimaced. "I didn't know, I'm sorry. And it was out in a harpy report? Teddy..."

She felt for her friend, she really did. Being outed like that? It couldn't have been easy to show her face to anyone again so soon.
