Needing a Friend (open) - The Den

"They are creepy. Overly so. What one may find captivating, I... generally wouldn't toss a stone at," she smiled. "Personally I would see all of those estates and plantations burned to the ground. But... it is what it is. They can be quite beautiful if seen in the right light."

"There are those that say the Spanish Moss keeps the whispers of the past, so the stories are there to be told and passed on if one knows how to listen." looking at her "I find the estates much more interesting than stones that are all that's left in many a ruin in Europe."

"If I knew how to listen to the fauna..." She let the comment hang. "Though I can understand to a certain degree... A stone can only tell you so much."

"It's cold, unmovable, and yes it's not the same. The flowing, dancing and enticing moss well it's a lot more romantic." with a chuckle.

"A sight more interesting to look at, too. It's... a growing thing. An organism, life... Life tells a story in such a different manner."

"It's the stories that my imagination makes up and then it flows to music for me if I am lucky."

"It's similar for me in my photography," Cass nodded with a slight smile. "What's it like, Greer? The music?" Her interest was genuine.

"It's always there, sometimes like a music box playing it's melody and other times a full orchestra crescending so loud I swear I am going to pass out, but then it will simmer down to just a voice and a piano. It's truly been impossible for me to capture or duplicate but I get close at times with single notes and I mimic it I think well but you've not got the original to hear how well or poorly I am truly doing." it was wistfully said, she twisted the single white streak, and tucking it back into her hair and then looking to Cassiel to see if she had made any sense at all.

"So it's as if your mind is composing too quickly for you to catch up or is it more like a distant memory trying to surface that you can't always quite grasp? Sounds like... a dream you've mostly forgotten when you've just woke up," she said thoughtfully.

"It's always there, as if you are trying to remember a favorite quote or book title that's just out of reach. It's a frustration as much as a muse to keep me trying to capture but a note of it when I can."

"That's... very fascinating," she nodded. "I don't know what I would do or how I would react if I were in your shoes."

"It's truly the most amazing thing I've ever heard, I strive to match it but end up falling short always." she fiddles with a sapphire bracelet on her wrist, then smile at her "So you like to hike?"

A slight nod with her smile. "Yes... But it's because I generally prefer nature to the city. I enjoy the quiet, the peace."

"And I prefer the city, the architecture the art and music of the city, and in nature I spend too much time in my own thoughts."

"I'm too used to my own thoughts," she smiled. "Too used to being alone. The city had its perks, but I have been trouble hearing myself."

"Well my thoughts are usually not the most positive about myself so I'd rather not hear."

"Fair enough," she smiled. "So what is your favorite part of this city?"

"The beach and good company." with a smile at her.

"Mine, too." She smiled softly. "Can you recommend a good place on the beach, a favorite spot?"

"I just like to walk it, there are a couple of places that seem to sing to me, but they are on the edge and I sit letting the water wash over me as I stare out at the sea and sky."

"I've been thinking... If I can open a gallery here, that maybe I can rig up an underwater camera and get some still shots of the sea life on one of the quieter ends of the beach," she mused.

"Oh that would be wonderful. I'd love to see them."

She smiled. "It's something to focus on until I get a new idea for a larger project. And I will gladly share."

"Another larger project. You just completed your last one. You truly are a glutton for punishment aren't you?"

She chuckled softly. "Just a little, I suppose. But it keeps me going, moving. Keeps me looking for the next best thing, the next best idea and technology to incorporate into my art."
