Needing a Friend (open) - The Den

"You're welcome to stay as long as you'd like this eve. And I always enjoy your company, now we've got a project together and you've agreed to come to karaoke night." with a soft chuckle.

"Now if we could just get rid of the well things driving up nuts." with a roll of her eyes and a playful tone.

Cass took a deep breath and let it out. "Karaoke night... Promise to not scalp my after my turn is over?"

'Promise!" with a giggle "I can't believe your bad at it."

"Let's just say I'm sure the dogs will be barking from a mile away," she chuckled.

"That I doubt, but that's how I feel about painting. I swear 3 year olds do better than I."

"I don't have the patience for painting," she giggled. "I'm sure you've got more on me. Hey, you know... You could just pass it off as abstract," with a wink.

"Actually I don't even think my painting can be passed off as that...." with a shy look at her "No really it's pretty bad."

"Well, how long have you been working in that medium? Maybe you'd be better off with something a bit more precise like drawing or sketching?"

'Oh I tried for over 10 years and gave up, focusing instead on my music again. So is there any particular song you'd like to sing if we do the karaoke thing?"

A grin. "Patsy Cline-- These Boots Are Made For Walking."

Greer pauses, bites her lip "I don't know it but I will have it so you can practice before it happens, and you'll feel more comfortable." with a grin at her.

"Much appreciated," she smiled with a shake of her head. "Seems like an easy choice to me. What do you usually sing?"

"What ever seems like a good time. I pick up songs quickly." playing a few notes on the piano. "Even if I've not really heard the song, I can get it and read the lyrics. But I've been listening to a lot of music trying to have songs ready." with a chuckle "And the 80's is a great time to learn songs."

"The 80's?" she smiled. "Home of Devo, good Madonna and The Police."

"Yes and the seventies as well, the 90's have some okay songs but I do seem to like Joan Jett." chuckling.

"Nothing wrong with Joan Jett," she smiled. "Bee Gees and Abba, too."

"Abba is fun. I also like Disco and pretty much all music, and Me and Bobby MeGee is fun too. But then again I think I just like music."

"I look forward to hearing some of your favorites then, Greer," she chuckled. "I bet you can make anything sound fantastic."

"Well thank you for the confidence." with a hug to her "But it's fun and no pressure. Both of which I appreciate."

"Well, if it's not fun it's not worth doing, right?" Hugging her back.

"I so agree. So other than your art what do you like to do for fun?"

"Depends on the decade," she chuckled. "I like clubbing, sometimes. I've always been a fan of movies. Then of course there is the fun in riding a motorcycle, climbing trees and roofs, bungee jumping, skydiving. Anything to get the adrenaline going, really."

"Oh motorcycles are next on my to learn to drive list. And what type of movies?" looking at her with a happy smile.

"Black and white-- from the 30's and 40's, actually. Not that I mind the ones coming out in this day and age. But I generally get inspiration from the classics."

"The Thin Man?" with a hopeful look at her.
