What's This? (A Wedding)

Penny wasn't sure what to say to Victor, so not sure smile, then to the teen, "Thank you - your dress is quite lovely too. It's a pleasure to meet you. I've heard very positive things about you."

She smiled and blushed slightly at Penny's words - unsure how to feel about being a topic of conversation but since Penny was being nice, she figured that it couldn't have been all bad.

"Thank you so much. I'm afraid I've not heard much about you so I can't say the same, but it's still wonderful to meet you." She nodded, shuffling her feet a little and looking down at her suddenly-very-interesting shoes.

She wasn't eavesdropping. There was just so much going on she didn't have the time to overhear. Oh, she'd seen Orie kiss Erik and honestly, she hadn't thought twice about it. Orie was just being Orie. Didn't bother her one bit. But she caught the look from Erik and smiled much the same way toward him as he was smiling at her. Oh, look, Orie wanted hugs.

She held out her arms to Orie and drew her in for a warm, tight hug. "Thank you so much for coming," she said to Orie, genuinely happy to see the other redhead.

You thought she wanted hugs. Griselda, honey, you are sometimes entirely too naive for your own good. She hugged Griselda and leaned back to look at her Regent. And then yep, there she was, giving her just as solid of a kiss as she had planted on Erik a few moments before. Maybe a little more solid. She knew Griselda a lot better. So this was much more friendly and maybe even a little more intimate than her kiss to Erik had been, but that's just 'cuz they knew each other so well.

"Congratulations," she said sincerely, cupping Griselda's cheek. "Figured if I wasn't going to be able to do that anymore, I needed to get one last good one in," she grinned and winked at Griselda, too. "Truly, Griselda, no one deserves this happiness more than you. He's a wonderful man and will continue to be so, cherish every moment and love him with your whole heart. Many blessings, my dear friend." Yes, Griselda got a whisper, too.

"Oh sorry dear." watching her stare at her shoes, looking to Joseph then back at the teen "Didn't mean to make you uncomfortable."holding her hand out to the girl "how about we shake and maybe plan to have a girls day at the spa some day soon?"

She lifted her head a little, still blushing. She took Penny's hand to shake and gave her a shy smile.

"Okay. I think I'd like that," she nodded her agreement, but she was still a little embarrassed.

God damn it, Orie.

She realized that she was probably going to get a kiss, too. She realized it and went into the hug fully knowing it. And that was okay. But she hadn't expected Orie to damn near make out with her in front of pretty much everyone. Which also meant that as much as she was trying to keep herself calm, she flailed a little bit when Orie held the kiss just a little too long for her own comfort.

And then her mouth. She was blushing, kind-of a wreck but the minute she heard Orie's words, she softened and glanced at Erik. "I plan to," she said quietly to Orie's whisper. "Thank you, Oriella. It means a lot."

She grinned, since that's the reaction she was going for. And she wandered away from the couple, since there really wasn't anyone else left to greet them and made her way over to the little group off to the side.

She gave Joseph a friendly, very gentle bump with her elbow, just enough of a touch to get his attention. "Hey, Joe. What do you know?"

His attention had been commanded by the group he was speaking with, so he didn't see Oriella nearly making out with the bride and groom. But he knew Oriella. So he glanced at Griselda and Erik, saw them both blushing, figured it was par for the course. And he gave Oriella a smile, sliding his free arm around her shoulders affectionately.

"Oh, a little of this and a little of that. Orie, have you met Penny?" he asked, smiling at Penny. "Penny, this is an old family friend and good friend of my daughter's, Oriella Martin."

Victor put a reassuring hand on Audriana's shoulder and smiled at Penny.

Orie gave Joseph a side-hug with one arm and smiled, then held out her hand for Penny to shake.

"Hi, Penny. It's nice to meet you."

"Girls only sir." to Victor, with a genial smile at him.

Then to Orie "it's a pleasure to meet you." shaking her hand she knew who she was and happy to make her acquaintance.

Victor slipped off to see McKay and Greer

"You do cowboy in formal wear rather well you know. Might get people talking"

She currently had Orie at a disadvantage. But Orie didn't seem to mind at all, she shook Penny's hand and gave her a pleasant smile.

"Having a good time?" she asked Penny, friendly-talk. "Weddings can sometimes be overwhelming and most especially when you're the new person there," she nodded. Orie knew all these people, she could tell Penny didn't. She wanted to check to make sure that Penny didn't feel, well, left out. Her date was the father of the bride, his attention was incredibly divided.

He turned with a raised brow. "Hello, Victor. Ya know, I wear a suit quite often. Ya just ain't around ta see it much." He was ignoring the cowboy comment. He pulled off boots, too. "And people have a whole lot better things ta talk about right now than me wearin' a suit again."

Greer looked at Victor "Are you attempting to be a mean jerk or just showing you have no social skills?"

"I'm attempting to have a sense of humor" he sighed at Greer's words. "Sorry. And yes, Mister McKay, you are right, there is a lot more to talk about. I actually wanted to introduce both of you to my daughter as well."

His brow rose. "Somebody procreated with ya?" Fair question. Vampires don't breed.

He shook his head. "Adopted. Rescued from a crisis situation really, orphan, foster family used her as a rape and stab toy... Very sweet and intelligent kid, also a little in awe of both you and Miss Harrington."

He ran a hand over his face. "Keep your voice down, fool. You're at a wedding talking about rape and stabbings."

Victor frowned, he'd been keeping his voice down. "Anyway... I wanted to introduce her"

"Well first off don't tell all her history, some get off on that, second what did you tell her about us? And lastly I can't wait to meet your ward." with a smile at him, a soft soothing tune, and lean into Jim.

"You two are decent people... which is why I gave you the backstory. As for what I've told her, just that McKay is a decent sort and that yes, you are a lovely lady. I haven't had a chance to discuss either of you with her yet. "

He let Greer lean against him, sliding his arm around her shoulders with a smile. "Yeah, but we're supposed ta be betting on what tha groom's getting the bride for Christmas. I'm putting fifty on a puppy." He smiled easily just in case someone happened to be looking. "And yeah, love ta meet tha kid."
