Griselda's Birthday (Open)

Victor shifted the weight of the little girl. He wasn't going to admit that holding a baby was heavier than it looked. Not yet anyway.

"I'd just like to know how I keep winding up playing with little baby werewolves."

"Because you won't shoo them away when you should."

"I didn't know this one was one. And the other one... well Immokaeli is unique. No more werewolf babies after this one though."

Erik arrived but not alone, he looked dapper, his long hair back in a pony tail, a bit nervous but hey Griselda said he should come and bring Matieu. Right now one didn't get Matieu well without his "better half".

So in a black button up, over a geek shirt, black jeans, and black boots with a present in a small box he arrived. the first then flanked by two others.

"Like you actually plan to hold to that promise."

To Erik's other side was a rather tall, non-descriptor and skinny man, a few piercings but otherwise ordinary to look at, except the top hat, the long duster, the skull cane, and the box he was carrying that seemed to be covered in latex.

"In 80 years, I've played with exactly two werewolf babies.... that I knew of. Anyway..." He raised an eyebrow at the newcomers. "There is Griselda's boyfriend. And some strangers. Shall I introduce you?"

Completing the other side of Erik, was all 5'2", leather cat suit, that covered her hands, and not an inch of the lady was showing skin but her face, she had a bag that was bright purple and obviously some incense sticking out of the bag.

The three newcomers, Erik and his friends, were getting quite a number of stares. Not because there was anything wrong, but because they weren't actually known. Jamie knew Erik, sort-of. No one else there had any clue who they all were, and Griselda was nowhere to be seen yet.

By far, the most disconcerting stare came from the little girl. She was pouring cups of tea and arranging wood in a fire pit and she just stopped everything that she was doing to look up and fix the three with a blue stare. She looked mildly curious for a moment, as if measuring or sizing the three up.

....Then she started to smile. It was an adult smile, a Mona Lisa sort of smile. It looked weird on the small face of the six-year-old, but it was there. And just like that, she went back to pouring tea as if nothing at all had interrupted her.

Her brow rose as she watched the three unknown people entering. They weren't the first strangers to arrive, since she hadn't known Alexandria, but they came in a group and that was curious enough.

She reached for Scarlet - having a woman's instincts, she knew that a man just wasn't equipped with the hip for holding a child for a long period of time.

"Sure," she said and shrugged. "Why not? It's a party, right?"

Some deep, ancient instinct let Miyu take Scarlet without even thinking as he approached the group.

"It is good to see you again" Victor said to Erik with a smile. "This is Miyu Chen, of whom I told you of. You probably saw her on the beach a while back." He glanced at the other two, an odd group to be sure.

Miyu's arms were full of 3-year-old little girl, so she simply smiled and ducked at the knees in a bit of a curtsy, since she couldn't offer her hand for a shake.

"How do you do?" she said, giving each -- Erik, Matieu and Sephtisa a studying look, but that was just how she looked at everyone.

Erik looked at Victor "Nice to see you again Mr. Steele, it is a pleasure to meet you Ms. Chen - can you please direct us to the present table?"

With an Louisiana sounding accent "Oh Matieu it's a Loup de Lou baby, see luv we fit right in." with a grin that was an attempted smile but teeth involved made it less so.

Under her breath in a long lost Creolo/French language she started to mutter

A stomp of his cane, "Tisa enough," in the same accent "Erik forgets his manners Mr. Steel. I am Mr. Smith, my Lady is Ms. White. Ms. Chen you are lovely and so is the child you are holding." he pauses "Oh sorry Miss Scarlett, you are smart little thing too."

She had one arm under Scarlet's backside, the other hand at the little girl's back. She also seemed perfectly relaxed. That's one thing about being an agent of God and having God believe in you. You just weren't ever disturbed by most things. In this particular case, she didn't believe that the three were being mean or threatening in any way, they just were new to being in a large group of vampires.

She laughed softly, her eyes glancing to each of them as they spoke, giving them her attention. To Erik, she nodded her head to where a set of blonde twin men were speaking to a rather striking and pretty redhead. "Right up there is the gift table, where George and Matthew are talking to Oriella," she gave Erik a smile. "I can introduce you if you like." She had heard that he was a bit shy and there was a lot of people here already that she was betting Erik didn't know.

To Sephtisa, she also laughed softly. "Ms. White, a pleasure. Loop de Lou baby....not a term I'm familiar with, but of course you fit right in." Her smile was also genuine. "And thank you for coming."

Miyu played hostess quite well, actually, and even holding Scarlet, she gave Matieu a bit of a bow. "Thank you very much, Mr. Smith - for the compliment and for coming as well. The little redheaded girl up there, Rhiana, probably didn't prepare all of you very well. She told Griselda that this was supposed to be a family get-together, since she wanted to surprise her with birthday things - and it's very, very hard to surprise Griselda." That wasn't even a joke, so she didn't laugh, though she did give them another smile.

Scarlet, being three years old, actually looked at Matieu curiously. "You see."

"Ms Smith, Mr. White, it is a pleasure to meet both of you."

"Pleasure is all mine, Mr.Steele, if your first name was Remington - you'd get a ton of jokes." with a nod and sly smile at him.

Then to the present table and seeing Oriella, "You are even lovelier then was described to me Ms. Oriella, we are quite honored to avenge your honor."

"Huh?" Victor had that clueless look on his face that he got when some cultural references he didn't get came up.

Griselda hadn't given her any details, other than that she had a couple of friends who had 'taken care of' making sure that the missing Mage who had harmed her was dealt with. She just had no idea who these friends were or what had been done. So she wasn't completely confused by Matieu's commentary, but kind and caring as she was, she had been spared many, many details. She was chatting with George and Matthew in a friendly manner, turning her attention to Matieu as he came up and addressed her.

Her smile was quite genuine and friendly. "I'm afraid you have me at a disadvantage, good sir," she said with that same smile and a slight lowering of her lashes as she looked Matieu over, as well as his companions, Erik and the girl. She seemed completely nonplussed, though. "You must be the friends that Griselda had mentioned to me - I believe I actually owe you all a token of gratitude, if you'll permit me?" She blinked a few times, but her smile was still just genuine and sweet. She really was completely harmless.

Alexandria finished tying her aerial hoop into place and came back up, dusting off her hands and giving Victor and Miyu a smile.

"Thanks for watching her. I can take her back now - I'm all set until Griselda gets here."

Victor smiled as Miyu handed the baby back. "I have an odd propensity to run into the offspring of werewolves.Currently I am engaged in a plot to smuggle chocolate candy to one."

Abigail helped Rhianna get thing set and then milled around the back of the party. She wasn't being antisocial but was fine just watching the new faces

"No Miss I am a problem eliminator, this bad thing was bad to you and I with help eliminated him, but after telling him why one does not hurt a fine lady like yourself." with a tip of his hat.
