Griselda's Birthday (Open)

She took his hand, then leaned into him affectionately and grinned as he sang horribly but heartfelt. Curious if she'd get his Dad's once over too - or if the classic double standard was going to be upheld.

He grinned at Guinevere as she leaned against him, wrapping his arm around her as Joseph launched into yet another really, really old one. And yes, he sang that one just as horribly. But he sang it, because it was of his home.

She didn't notice she was doing it. But her toe was tapping to the beat as her father played and sang a song she hadn't heard in....several hundred years. She even squealed a little bit, because she never got to listen to music like this anymore. And played live, by Scotsmen....she was more excited than she had been for a long time.

She sang along, not suffering the same curse as her cousin. She had been blessed with a rather decent singing voice. And she was singing, but she also had a slight smirk.

Joseph was a Jacobite. And she knew it.

Some may think she was heartless but she had her answer already, she leaned into him and suffered through the up close and personal version of the song from the worse singer there.

He actually looked a little surprised when Joseph started singing again. But he didn't shy away from this one at all. He even glanced at Griselda when this one started and - thankfully - didn't bother to sing along this time. He knew he couldn't sing. He just lip synced this one for the good of all.

She never left Erik's side. She actually didn't stop touching him. She kept her hand in his, the grin broad on her face as her father sang the Raggle Taggle Gypsy. She sort-of sang along with it. But Erik would notice that old habits die hard and she was leaning into him more and more. Very deeply relaxed, her eyes heavy. Had she been a regular human, she probably would have fallen asleep. That's just how old habits are.

Abigail was smiling and singing along, but remained towards the back of the group. There were some things she didnt want to be reminded of but she was there because she wanted to see Griselda happy. Which made it worthwhile

Victor gently tugged on Miyu's hand and glanced at Abbigail. He saw no reason why she had stand alone at the edge of the groupl

She nodded and started toward Abigail with a slight smile.

"She looks so happy," she murmured, in commentary of the birthday girl. "Happy and carefree."

"She's got her father, a man who loves her, family and friends. Which, based on what she told me while I was stoned out of my mind after surgery is usually when things get horribly bad for her."

She noticed the two approaching and acknowledged them with a smile. All things considered she was acting fairly normal. Or at least putting on a very good pretense so that everyone could have a good time.

She gave Abigail a grin and a wink, then smirked at Victor.

"Self-fulfilling, I'm guessing. If she's happy, she's too happy and shouldn't be, so therefore, something must go wrong. I'm hoping she's happy enough to forget to be all broody and making bad things happen."

"I think some of it is outside forces that like to mess with her. Her former lover Joseph, other Tremere... I haven't gotten all the stories but she's had some rather repulsive people in her life who seem to take joy in tormenting her. Tacky. Simply tacky. But yes, I hope you are right."

She pointed to the three standing with Griselda. Matieu, Tisa and Erik.

"That's a whole lot more power than I want to really think about standing with her. I think she might be sheltered from outside force for a bit."

Victor nodded.

"I hope so."

"Wow," said Alex, walking up with Scarlet on her hip. "I have never seen Red this happy. Ever."

Victor reached for the child and nodded. "Can't say I have either"

She laughed and handed Scarlet to Victor.

"Yeah, but I've known her since 1743."

Victor replied with a rather straight face while bouncing Scarlet "I will remove myself from your lawn then"

Guinevere leaned into him still enjoying the moment, happy to watch them all be happy for once.

It was rare for this sort of relaxed happiness to happen in the life of a Kindred. As such, he was happy to just bask in it, his arm around Guinevere and a smile for her. He kept glancing toward his cousin, though, a smile on his face as he watched Griselda. She had so few moments of happiness that he couldn't help but smile as he watched this one.
