Quiet night in - Cabin in the Swamp

He closed his eyes and held her close

She was happy to be held, though her hand moved to pet her kitten. Their baby.

"What have you been up to with your nights?"

"Fixin' the place up, readin'. Met Lorelei. Nice girl there, even if a bit crazy."

She giggled.

"Crazy for us? Or for them?"

"Them" he chuckled "Girl said folks called her a hunter, an' that she carries a werewolf baby. Then got all offended like when ah came close ta' shootin' her. Needs ta' watch what she says better."

She giggled.

"Silly girl."

"Yup. Bought her some supper though and had a nice chat. Figger them pregnancy hormones makin' her crazy, an' she not know how to deal with it."

She nodded.

"She was nice to Bethy once. Cooked her dinner."

"she told me. why i bought her supper"

She giggled.

"Good."

"What does Bethy want for Christmas?"

She frowned.

"A tree. And pretty lights."

"Can do that. But what does she want other than a tree and pretty lights?"

She bit her lip and frowned.

"Bethy has everything she needs. Though, she could use a new boat."

Chet squeezed her and smiled "Get you bestest boat. What kind you want this time? "

She giggled.

"Sneaky boat."

"Sneaky boat for sneaky ghoul? Hmmm... you know how we used to do that? Rubber boat, paddles with cloth bags tied on them to help muffle sound. Now maybe use very quiet electric motor. Everything all black or grey."

She nodded.

"Love it."

"What Bethy use sneaky boat for?"

She shrugged.

"Don't know yet. But is something not have."

"Good enough" he smiled "If Bethy wants, Chet gets."

She kissed him happily.

"What does Chet want?"

He smiled and kissed her back "Hmmm... Ah have a Bethy. Not sure what else ah need. Books maybe?"

She nodded.

"Okay. I get library."

"Don' have ta be a lot now hon. Just some special ones. We got forever after all."
