Visions FTW.... - Cabin in the Swamp

Chet woke up, and gave Bethy her usual evening kiss and warm embrace.

"Good evening love.  Got something weird for ya"

She snuggled into him lovingly.

"Oh?"

"Yeah. Came home last night, saw a white rose under a tree. And as I looked at it, blood red poison dripped down on it, and destroyed the rose, leaving a dusting of white powder on the ground where the rose once had been"

She nodded.

"That is strange. We should go to town and see if anything fits."

He nodded his head, all traces of his hillbilly upbringing absent from his voice, save the slow drawl he always spoke in.

"Yeah. This is strange."

She nodded.

"I'll go get dressed."

She was lucid. This called for that, when it wasn't her vision.

"Fly in, or motorcycle? Want to look over the whole area?"

She pulled on leggings and a dress, her combat boots over them.

"We will look at news first. Give me the details."

Chet rolled out of bed, still dressed from the prior day, and pulled on his boots.

"Where is my .44 love?" he said while slipping on his vest. "You can listen to the radio, and I'll buzz around the area a bit and then we can go to the airport"

Because really, he only felt truly safe when he was flying

She nodded and kissed him gently.

"We will find what is wrong."

She reached into the dresser and pulled out his .44, handing it to him.

He slipped the well worn Ruger into his shoulder holster

"Thank you love. Ok, I'm gonna warm up the bird, come on when you are ready."

Chet picked up his flight bag and went outside, and soon the sound of the helicopter could be heard warming up

She arrived in the bird with a backpack slung over her shoulder. She slipped into the second seat, with a smile.

Chet passed over a second helmet so they could easily talk to each other, and lifted the Huey off the ground
