Dancing juice - Warehouse 13

13 arrived at the door. Rather than coming in the back way he knocked at the door. It was dark out and he had been looking to see if they had anyone watching. Beside him was about 2 gallons of grape juice, a gallon of milk, A sealed container of scrambled eggs(cold), about 6 apples and some oranges, a dozen cots and 3 camp stoves with the little tanks attached.

Oh yes, there were watches out. The ones most skilled at hiding had already started to change the debris in the yard to make makeshift hides. At least, it looked like that was what was going on, since he knew there were children here. If he didn't, it would just look like some stuff got shifted around in a rummage and got put back sloppy. These kids were good at what they did.

The door didn't even open until he heard a non rhythm tapped out against the wall of the warehouse. It sounded like a woodpecker, not someone knocking. And when it did open, it was only a crack. By the smallest girl.

"Carly be right here. You wait."

He nodded, smiling.

He was impressed. really impressed. They had been busy and had made htis place their own. he was starting to be really impressed with Carly. he leaned against the wall and waited.

The door closed on him again after he nodded. It was a few minutes before it opened again, this time by Carly herself. And she smiled to see what he had brought.

"Hey you. Come on it."

She opened the door and came out to grab a good share of the load, to help carry it all in in one trip.

He grabbed food and stuff as well, bringing the cots in and setting them on the floor. Yeah, it had to of taken him two trips.

"Told you I'd be back. Looks like you have gotten alot done. How did the first day go?"

She started lugging the stuff to the back, where it was needed.

"We mostly stayed inside. Didn't want to draw attention. But you were right, no one comes out here, so some of the bigger boys did some work outside."

He smiled and grabbed everything back up, carrying it as he followed her.

"Good. Yeah, I noticed. they have them planted well. You folks know your business. Any bad dreams, not being out in the open?"

She shook her head.

"Just the usual. Jessie's had nightmares for a while. We got her out of her foster home before the fucker did too much damage, but he did enough."

He nodded, an angry look passing over his face.

"Good. Fuckers. Hmm, so, a little later I will see what i can do to get electricity going. You might want to do some work to make sure no light bleeds out. Has everyone had dinner?"

"Yeah. And we're already working on blacking out the windows."

he nodded.

"sounds like you have it all under control. I can't wait to meet everyone. Have you thought about what you want to do with the main office on the second floor?"

She shrugged.

"I sleep with the kids. Might turn it into an infirmary, but that's the only thought I'd had."

He nodded.

"Makes sense. You can also use it for storage. So, you have any practice with hurt or sick kids?"

She nodded.

"I know basic first aid. And there's a clinic down by the beach that doesn't take names."

"The dove clinic. i have seen it."

She nodded, then opened the door to the kitchen area. There, they found several of the children, cleaning the place us.

He walked in with her, looking around at the kids cleaning. he was impressed. she really did have them working hard. he followed her with the groceries looking to see where she wanted them.

They were making this place..at least homey.

She pointed to the counters that were already clean.

"Just leave it there. Mallory, if you would get everyone in here who's not on watch?"

One of the girls cleaning nodded and put her cleaning things away before racing out of the room. All without a word.

He put the food up on the counter. setting everything down to make sure it was alright.

Soon there were ten children in the room with him, all looking attentively at Carly.

"Alright guys, this here is 13. He's the reason we have this swank place."

The children grinned at that, and began clapping. Very, very quietly, so as not to make too much noise.

He looked at the 10 children,shrugging and trying to looking to look humble. To tell the truth he couldnt remember the last time he actually faced 10 people in a room, normally he was hiding and waiting to confront one prey. this was.. a little disconcerting.

"Hi."

They smiled at him, entirely at ease now. Carly grinned.

"I'll introduce them to you one at a time. But for now, why don't you pass out the juice you brought?"

He nodded and pulled out the two jugs of grape juice. He pulled out red plastic cups and set them on the counter and started to pour some for everyone.

"I hope every one likes Grape juice."

There were nods all around. Carly helped pass out the juice to the little ones first, then the older kids. She took the last of the cups. And they all drank it down.

Strangely the boy was so busy pouring and helping everyone that he didnt drink.

"did everyone get smething to eat tonight?"
