Vero Beach (Open)

Cally had made the necessary reports. They troubled her in so many ways. The interpretations here of anything 'standard' was hardly a 'standard' affair. While nothing was terribly wrong, none of it was terribly right either. The clan was floundering in a lot of ways and it truly bothered her. Too many hands in the pot and too many who claimed leadership of the pieces they liked. Both those present were guilty of that so she had left the Domain itself but stuck nearby... Just in case.

The Airport here was a nice place to put the blue gull winged bird and the shoreline and Inn made from driftwood seemed a good place to clear her mind and to meditate on the nature of the world around them.

So having gotten a bite to eat and set up camp in a cheaper interior room she took a long walk along the famous and lovely Vero Beach. Coming to a point where air land and sea met she settled down into the cool water allowing it to soak the lower part of her bathing suit. She knew the big man was on watch nearby but he would leave her to her musings. They were safer musing with his presence and so she visibly relaxed.

Closing her eyes she used her senses of magical nature to extend beyond herself. She felt for the lines of power and their flow using the mathematical equations of Hermetic Thaumaturgy as her guide. She made order of seeming chaos and so calmed her own mind.

A young woman walked down the beach with her feet bare and her auburn hair loose in the wind. She wore a little white sundress.

She continued walking slowly through the surf and chose to go back up on the sand to walk around the woman.

Cally looked up and over to the red head since the path taken ws up and around her.. "Evenin' " She said noting the distance taken and well aware of the feeling she gave off to most folks. "Nice night for a walk." It was a very nice place so walkers wouldn't be out of the ordinary.

Emily seemed almost in a daze, then actually looked at Cally. She frowned and knit her brow, concentrating. Then she took a step back and had a look of recognition on her face. She shook her head and smiled shyly.

"Ya...sorry, I'm a little ditsy. Ya, it's beautiful here. Reminds you of the goodness in the world."

"Ahha." She said in reply and gave her a solid look herself. "You OK kiddo? Ya seemed a mite out there." (Requesting Roll)

The girl looked like she was in pain, under the scrutinizing gaze of Cally.

"Ya, ya, I'm fine. I was just lost in thought is all. I come out to the beach to think." She explained. The girl had an inner glow that seemed to radiate life. She took another step back.

Cally sighed in a very human manner. "Will you stop acting out like your prey when you're not and settle down. You're here for a reason. Now, what do you want?"

She waved her hand around them and the empty beach. "No one to hear us talk that doesn't know. I've seen the dossier on you and obviously you feel or see me. No surprise really. When you make a deal with a devil or an angel you get what you asked for. Ask Faust."

(OOC: Still waiting on the ST response to the roll but going with what I was given ICly)

"If you know anything about me then you know I'm no predator and I don't stand a chance against one of you. If all you know is what I am, then chances are you are making a lot of assumptions about me that aren't true."

"I was literally just taking a walk to think...I like the beach to think."

"OK, I'll take that at face value. Then we are both here for the same thing but for different reasons. Right here and right now I won't bite you if you don't bite me. Got it?" Cally said giving Emily the steady look that a cold-hearted soldier can when faced with a dicey situation that could go south in a hurry and doesn't have to. "Most I've met that are like you lead people astray, use them up and throw them away. The same can be said of most of us so... yeah. Not it, not here, not now, right Emily?" She waved her hand knowing damn well that wasn't the name other than the current host but going with it anyway.

"I don't use people." She said finally getting some steal in her spine. "I heal them! And I know your kind can be virtuous and good too! We're individuals. What we are doesn't take away our free will."

Cally chuckled. "If you accept faith, adoration, a compliment and return such, if you are talking to others, influencing them in any way, if you are a living, breathing or interacting being...you use people. No man or in our case being is an island Emily. So don't tell me you don't use people. You may try not to misuse people but you still use them just like I do. Please note I said prior use them up and throw them away... big difference."

She looked out to sea for a moment as she spoke. "Why don't you cop a squat on the sand here for a while. You seem all ready to be offended and pissy tonight."

Emily didn't appreciate this person's view on things. She frowned, her face still fearful, but she did walk over and sat on her heels just out of arm's reach.

"I'm used to people making assumptions about me. I'm sorry I did the same to you."

"It's OK I run into it all the time too." Cally said and looked back out to sea. "We live in a pretty place through and through." She said listening to the water lapping at the shoreline. "Sometimes it's hard to remember that when we see so much ugly out there."

"Yes, very true." Emily agreed. She was still very stiff and reserved. "I come out here to dream of a more beautiful world. It's easy when you look out at the ocean."

Cally chuckled again ruefully. "If I look back in certain memory places I see this IS a prettier world. I guess its perspective." She glanced over. "So which one are you? The one running the one hunting or the one just hanging around away from the other two? I just want to know if I have to yell for us to take cover in a foxhole in the beach any time soon." Cally had that odd sense of humor most old soldiers get. Off color and out of kilter with most people but here she let it out just a bit to try to break the tension.

"Uh...I guess I'm the running one. Emily was killed by one of the others and has it out for me." She said.

"Oh so the body is a husk not a follower." Cally said with a nod. "I can see why you worry now. I don't know much about it other than you guys take a host. Did she find her way or don't you know?" Now Wraith's Cally knew something about to say the least.

"I'm not sure what you mean exactly. But she was at peace." Emily said going back to the memories of the fire.

"She was a good person. A really good person. She just lacked the courage to be great. She let the world beat her down and crush her dreams and yet, she still had hope. She still strived to be good. This is the beauty humanity has to offer."

"Beauty that was ended by one of my own..." The girl sighed and her eyes got watery.

"Careful there. Being in a host for too long you could become too human for your own good." Cally said making sure not to touch her. "Reaching for any ideal is good. Sometimes its the travel that is the goal rather than actually getting there. Trying can be good enough if its honest trying. If her soul isn't caught on the other side and she ascended then she won."

"I see nothing wrong with becoming completely human. There is no such thing as 'too human'. But I'm afraid I have the opposite problem. When I awoke I had no memories of being an angel. I thought I was Emily. Over time I've gained back some of my memories and as time goes on I'll be less Emily and more the angel that was too weak in faith to stand by her Creator."

Cally sat back and seemed thoughtful. "Do you know why the other one is chasing you? Usually when someone is being chased and there is a reason and if your trying to be the good guy..." Cally looked back over to her. "Hate to say it but lets face it I can see you having worse and better among your own just like we do. If you discovered something that could rock the socks off the demon damned many would want you gone. If that's the case, big if though, you need to remember your shit and start talking to the man upstairs ASAP. It could be your ticket back." She looked back out to sea. "IF... You're more human than demon right now you might have a shot at redemption."

Emily nodded, her eyes were distant.

"Yes, I know I do. I'm working on it. That's why I come out to the beach. I'm working on forgiving myself. In the mean time, I serve God in the best way I can. I strive to restore people's faith in the world."

"I don't know why that demon is after me, other than they want me. To eat me or use me." She shrugged.

Cally looked back over to her. "OK. How about you leave that forgiving thing to him and go about accepting what you did, owning it as your fuck up and moving beyond it. The man upstairs is said to forgiving anything that is honestly ad openly given to him. You got faith, you make miracles, own the fuck up and put it in your hands and thereby give it to him and find your way home."

"I have already spoken to one of God's messengers. I must forgive myself and be at peace before I can be welcomed back. God has already forgiven my kind as long as we truly regret what we did. It is me who must forgive myself and shed the last of the taint that stains my spirit." Emily explained.

"It isn't easy as I'm sure you know." Once you got past the creepy feeling surrounding Cally, her humanity was apparent.

Cally nodded. "Nope. Reconciliation is a bitch, kinda like Mother Nature." She gave the Sea a wry grin. "The thing about peace I've found is that it sneaks in when your not looking. When you are truly quiet and nothing bother you nothing intrudes on you and your mind is stopped that is when you find peace. Even if you are actively doing something you see as a good thing you're not at peace. If you question anything or work at anything you can not be truly at peace."

She glanced over to Emily. "So if you can forgive yourself and find that moment you'll go. It's not that different than the Wraith condition between the Wraith's spirit and the Shadow or the Kindred and the Beast."
