"Having emotions isn't a weakness. It's a good thing, means theres still some of your human side in you" which to the Caitiff was indeed a good thing. "If anything, being able to retain feelings even after having lived for as long as our kind does, is a strength in itself"
She reached out and brushed a few locks of stray hair from the womans face with a reassuring, kind smile. "Denying your feelings rather than dealing with them though can be a weakness"

"It is not that simple, Teddy. Who I am.. what I do.. requires steel, on command. I am free to explore emotions, as I see fit... and even feel them, but I have to be able to shut them off in complete absolution." she frowned a bit, sadly. "For you... for my girls, true humanity is not a weakness. It is what makes you all very beautiful, but for me... they have to be under complete control, in order to survive." her voice was steady... and cold. That distinct lack of humanity kick in, to to stabilize herself.

"I cannot do what needs to be done, if emotions are free to do as they please."

"I don't agree... but everyone deals with things differently. So I wont question it. Just know that some, to people like me? It's not something to be ashamed of or apologize for" the gently smiling blond said. "Around me though, you don't need to worry about keeping up appearances or keeping up a guard. I'm not the type to take advantage of someone or share their softer sides with others. I just want to be there, you know? Want you to know that if you need it, you can relax around me"

"Thank you Teddy." she spoke softly, her head still hanging a small bit. "I will always keep that in mind. But... you should go. I have taken up enough of your time, and you have a wonderful sounding man waiting for you back home." She lifted her head and smiled slightly, looking to the girl.

It was perhaps a strange gesture, seeing as they didn't know each other that well, but she none the less reached out to brush a lingering tear away with the soft touch of her hand.
"Smile... it looks much better on you than tears"

As she touched it, it had the consistency of blood... the same smell, but it was most definitely black. Michelle's small smile grew a little bit more, but it was not the fully bright and happy smiles that she had been before. "I will try." she spoke softly. "

"You got a good smile.." she said softly as she pulled her hand away from her again, smiling gently herself. "I can stay a bit longer if you want the company you know?" if that helped.

She leaned in and gently, chastly, quietly placed a small kiss to the far side of Teddy's cheek. It didn't linger, it was simply a gesture. "I will be fine. Thank you, darling. Go home to your lovely partner." She smiled a bit more brightly.

"Okay" the blond nodded, still smiling gently as she picked up her back and took a step backwards. "You take care alright?"

She wiggled her fingers, her smile having returned fully. "Safe travels, Teddy."

The Caitiff took a couple of more backwards steps, adjusted the bag on her shoulder and offered the woman a bright smile.
"See you around then" and, unless stopped, turned to leave.

Oh... but she was stopped. "Teddy..." Her head tilted to the side. "WHy are you walking peculiarly? Are you afraid of something?" she looked confused. "It seems as if you dont wish to turn your back to me."

"Huh?" actually she'd been in the middle of turning around when she said that. "Nnnnooo?" the blond arched an eyebrow. "I tend to walk backwards" honest to God truth. "I just thought it nicer to see your face rather than just turn and leave..." actually, she kind of frowned now. "You're being a bit paranoid...." for which the blond couldn't see that she'd given her any reason to be.

"Oh..." MIchelle said, sheepishly. "Sorry... old habits die hard." Old habits of always being suspicious of anything out of the 'norm'. "Never mind me... have a good night!" sheepish grin sprung up. She now looked a bit embarassed. "Sorry."

Teddy gave her a light wave of her hand, though still looking a bit confused about it all made a point to turn this time as she exited the room.

She just wasn't paranoid enough to understand.
