"Ah." he chuckled "Well. Sex. Ventrue. Prude. I haven't had sex since I died, other than to meet Delilah's needs."

She nods.

"How adventurous were you?"

"I was a young, healthy man who owned steamships, lumber mills and parts of a streetcar line. Let's just say I was one of the more eligable bachelors of my time in the Puget Sound. Many a delightful young girl and their gold digging mother were saddened at my death"

She laughed.

"You ever take a girl from behind while she was on her hands and knees in front of you?"

He chuckled "Ah yes. I see the reference now. And if you must know, several times up in the foc'sle of a small ship."

But... he said with a frown. "What does that have to do with here and now?"

She laughed.

"Absolutely nothing. Just something I used to say. 'You only love me for my doggy style.'"

"Ah I see" he chuckled again while nipping her nose "Were you good at it then?"

She smiled.

"I was great in bed. Still am, according to my food."

"Didn't you ever learn to not play with your food?" he chuckled

She smiled.

"I see no reason not to."

"Mmmm true. I've always been a hit, dominate and run sort of guy, but it goes with my delicate feeding habits" he chuckled

She nodded.

"Yeah, well, I'm not as picky."

"Lucky" he muttered

She chuckled.

"There's something to be said for not having needs."

A wicked grin and his fangs dropped, while he glanced at the cat and made a meowing sound, which prompted him to squirm free and scurry off

She laughed.

"Different kind of need, my dear one."

He chuckled and retracted his fangs. "Very true. Do you have any idea what a bitch it is to eat only certain people? Ahh never mind. Needless lives lost because I have particular tastes" he said sadly.

Eyebrows? Meet hairline.

"What do you mean by that?"

He sighed and snuggled her close to him. "I came into a mining town once late at night. Starving. No time to feed and find shelter, so I took shelter and headed into town the next night; close to frenzy from hunger. I didn't know the town was abandoned. The rail line was still active though, so I set signals to stop the next freight train, and lured one of the crew into the empty depot. Drained him dry. So I had to wind up killing the whole train crew and burning the old depot to make it look like a robbery gone bad. Dominating the crew would have been too risky. Killing all six men that night was the safest option. I still... regret it."

She closed her arms around him, holding him close.

"That always sucks. It's better when they deserve it."

"I know" he said sadly squeezing her tight. "Some had families.... children. It's why I'm fighting so hard to keep a home and build something. So I never have to kill someone in hunger again."

She cupped his cheek.

"You have me. You'll never be that way again. And if you are? You can always have me."

"You are a dear" he smiled "Let's keep it from happening again though eh? This fast paced modern world, a Free State in LA... I think I'm better able to do things than back when trains were the best thing we had for speed."

She nodded.

"Yes, it is easier. But some things are harder to find."

"Not what I need" he smiled stroking her hair. "I'm... I'm trying to decide if I should tell you or not. It's something I'm careful about."
