The cat's out of the bag (Ren/Raz0r) - Marcus' Hole in the Wall

She winced.

"Breaking a blood bond is a tricky business, and dangerous. But I need the person that's bound to endure, well... a quite painful ritual, and the blood of the person that they are bound to...."

She paused.

"Why?"

She smiled. It was not a nice smile. It was rather pained.

"Marcus here just came clean to Ren and I. And I claimed him as my Childer."

She blinked.

"Oooookayyyyyyy..."

Because obviously, that was important? Or something?

For his part, Marcus remains silent listening to the two women speaks. He looks past her towards the open door, trying to spot Ren. When he doesn't, he returns his attention back to the talking pair.

She positions herself in a protective stance between Marcus and Rai.

"Marcus was sent here by the Sabbat to infiltrate. He has come to the conclusion, all on his own, that he would rather not. So he came clean."

It was funny. She tilted her head at Raz0r, curiously. She blinked, because she was, truly and completely, surprised.

"Okay... and so I'm needed... why? Is there a plan for the Sabbat to invade the city, or some other such big ol' threat that I don't know about?"

When she asked, the reason for her surprise was clear: What, exactly, did the Nosferatu think she was going to do to the guy? Kill him? Because that's totally her way... */sarcasm*

Much as he might want to, Marcus holds his ground, placing a hand on Raz0rs shoulder. He is unable to look up, but he attempts to express his gratitude with that simple gesture.

She shook her head.

"No. He's bound. I want that bond gone. For his own sake. To clear his head."

She frowned.

"Who is he bound to? Or are we talking lots and lots of people, like the Sabbat tend to do?"

She turned to look over her shoulder.

"Any strange feelings of love for anyone else? Or just Brody?"

He shakes his head, looking up at Raz0r as she addresses him "Brody is the only one who matters. He's the one that saved me, and rescued me from the Ca...." He frowns, looking down at the ground and clentches his fist "He's the one who told me that he rescued me. And he's the one who I love..." His voice is raw as he says this, as though he's having to force even the possbility of the words out of his mouth.

She looked back at Raz0r. But she looked pained.

"If it's just the one, I can do it. I just need the blood. And he..."

She paused and sighed.

"It'll hurt. A lot."

She tilted to the side and looked at Marcus.

"I'm sorry. You'll hate me by the time it's done. But I really am sorry."

She smiled.

"Rai, have you ever been told how painful it is to become a Nosferatu? A single night is a drop of water upon a lake in comparison."

She smiled, but it was a very sad look. She knew how much it hurt. She knew.

"I need to know where Brody is, Marcus, if I'm going to do this."

He opens his mouth, then closes it, looking at Raz0r with panic sticken eyes. "No...you can't have me betray him..." He begins trembling, taking a few steps back, eyes darting from Raz0r, to Rai, to the door as though calculating the odds of him making it out. Not very good odds at that. He turns back to Raz0r "There has to be another way..." he says, clinging to whatever straw thin hope might be left to him.

She shook her head, stepping toward Marcus with her hand outstretched. It was almost a calming gesture, at that.

"Not betray him, Marcus. Not at all. I just need to know where he is, okay? I promise, I won't hurt him."

Ren was there, standing in the doorway. How long she'd been there was a bit of a guess. She tried to look reassuring.

Raz0r wraps her arms around him.

"Hush, darling. You don't have to."

Then she let go of him, sat on the bed, and slumped forward a bit in a trance.

It was a thin promise, but a drowning man clings to whatever debris he can when trying to stay afloat. He reaches out, clutching Ra'idah's hand desperately "You promise? You won't hurt him? I have your word?" By the look in his eyes, he was willing to believe just about anything at this point, and the shaking of his entire body at this point was testament on exactly that.

She took his hands with hers. Because she wasn't cruel, and she wasn't one to go back on her word, she met his eyes with her own.

"You have my word. I won't hurt him."

He searches her eyes for a long, long moment before nodding and turns towards the computer "You can find him with that. Shouldn't be that hard really. Just need to get online, and trace his location once he connects. He's never made me wait for long." He smiles fondly at the computer absently "It's how he showed me that he cared"

She nodded, but she didn't let go of his hands.

"Go ahead and send him a message, Marcus."

He hesitates, another wave of indecision and worry flashing across his face. After a few seconds though, he walks over to the computer and settles down, fingers clacking along the keyboards at celerity-esque speeds. He looks back at Rai, then Ren, then finally at Raz0r, offering the nosferatu woman a weak smile, even knowing that she couldn't see it in her state and turns, beginning typing.


"Brody. Are you there? I need you."


His knee starts tapping against the floor as he stares at the monitor intensely.

Ren stayed by the door, watching and listening - and not just for sounds inside the room.
