Old Friends (Greer & Ren) - The Den

Ren stepped in for a hug. She was obviously armed under the coat, but that likely wasn't surprising. "Shocked. Really. See this?" She peered at him, deadpan. "This is my shocked face."

"She really looks surprised I can tell." with a playful tone to Ren's deadpan and a big smile at the other woman.

He drew her in for a warm hug. Bear hug, even. Then he kissed her cheek. All while not letting go of Greer. "I can tell. Come on in! Want a beer or anythin'?"

"I'm good, thanks."

He stepped out of the doorway to let his clanmate inside. "So what brought ya back?"

Greer leaned her head on his shoulder, watching Ren and curious if she'll say in front of her as well.

He grinned and walked over to the couch. He put Greer firmly in his lap and wrapped his arms around her. "Well, we gotta lot of changes happened lately. What have ya been filled in on so I know what ta inform ya about?"

"Nothing other than the Officer changes so far." She found a chair where she could sit comfortably. She couldn't help but smile at the pair.

Greer curled into him, watching Ren and she wasn't sure she even knew what the most recent changes were, which of course put a mischievous smile on her face.

His hand trailed gently over Greer's leg. Absentmindedly. "Well, this is one change." He nodded at Greer and then indicated himself. "Cass an' Alex is another one. Oh. An' we're all supposed ta be careful of this Carnival comin' an' Fallen muckin' around."

Her shocked face made a reappearance. "Alex settling down doesn't surprise me. You two however..." She smirked.

"I haven't heard much about the carnival. Bad news I'm guessing?"

He grinned. "We all can be tamed." He leaned over and kissed Greer's head. "Yeah, it's bad news. Traps supernaturals, moves between worlds, powered by a demon. Ya get tha point." He paused. "Congratulations, you're tha first one ta find out." Almost an afterthought.

"Bet the popcorn's stale too."

Greer looked at him and just blinked at his words and then kissed him deeply. Then looked to Ren, "Sorry he just told me too." with a melodic laugh.

He grinned and kissed Greer. Then he glanced at Ren. "I'm bettin' tha clowns are all dressed like Freddy." He kissed Greer's nose. "Can't believe I kept that one a secret."

There was a mirthful twinkle in her eyes. "You guys are too cute."

"No comment - not repeating last conversation on that topic." with a soft chuckle looking at Ren "The ghosts are all upset and there are two fallen around. One says he's here to help and the other's just an ass." shaking her head and curling into Jim.

His arm around her tightened a little more. "Apparently, wards don't work tha same on 'em as they do on other demons."

"As in they get past them just fine? Or something even worse...like it fuels their powers, making them stronger?" It was a valid question.

"They get past 'em just fine."

"Well that stinks."

"Found anything that works on them yet?"

For a moment, that Greer would notice, he stiffened. His hand on her leg gripped just a little tighter. His jaw went firm. Then it was gone. "I've got an old friend workin' on it."

He didn't say anything. He just nodded.
