Needing a Friend (open) - The Den

"I have plenty of time on my hands," she said softly. "Perhaps I could draw up a few rough sketches to give you an idea of what I hope to find with the camera? Perhaps it would make it easier."

"'Sounds good and I'll work on composing something rough to go with the sketches till the actual photo's are collected." pausing in thought "I think this is going to be really fun."

"I think it will, too," she grinned. "I'm excited about it!"

"Me too!" with a look over her shoulder at her "It's really exciting and I am so looking to our finished product."

"Maybe I'll have a dark room set up by then," she smiled as she thought about it. "It would be nice to have everything a my fingertips again. But the finished product, I think, will be amazing."

"I am a bit biased but I agree. I think we're going to do a most amazing piece of art." with a dramatic flair on the piano to make her point.

Cass pulled herself from the sofa at the flourish of the keys, her brow raised. She wandered over to the piano, looking down at Greer's hands.

"Show me how you did that?"

Greer moves over on the piano bench "Have a seat." then puts her hands on the keys "Put your hands on mine." then starts to slowly show her how to do the flourish.

She sat, her hands on Greer's were exceedingly gentle. After a few times, Cass pulled her hands away and simply watched before moving her hands up an octave from Greer's.

She nodded, looked at Greer's hands once more and then simply, perfectly, made the flourish as shown.

"You've got it." with a grin at her "Want to learn a song?"

"Something simple?" she chuckled as she made the flourish again.

"Yes I think you can do this one. " and starts a simple cheery tune.

Cass seems to follow along quite quickly, picking it up fast. In fact, she seemed to be following Greer's lead without fault.

"You and Charlie are going to give me a complex." with a nod as she easily follows her. Switching to a different song.


(10:24:46 PM) "Piano"(WOD Result: 6)

Cass simply smiled and as Greer began again, she tried to follow along. But the beauty with which she played struck her senses... And she simply glazed over, her hands in her lap as she swayed and listened.

Greer finished, gently nudging her "Hey you asked to learn it." with a shake of her head, then remembering to pull it back to a performance level that shouldn't affect her.

"Hm?" She grinned a bit embarrassed. "Oh, sorry... I... I won't forget. I couldn't play it as well as you can, but..."

Cass began to play the song back-- she managed to hit every note, every chord. But it was directly from memory and without the same spark. But it was a start.

"Good start, but like Charlie you need to feel it as well." a gentleness to her tone, not critiquing more helping as she smiles at her.

"I didn't know Charlie was learning, too," she said softly with a smile. "My mind is like a camera-- I never forget details, no matter how small. But the emotion behind the music will come with time."

"Charlie too has amazing attention to detail, I do not." with a chuckle "BUT music is more than just perfect notes."

She nods again, her smile even softer. "I hope to feel it as you do... Though with my own flair." She looked at Greer, placing a hand on her arm. "You've been so very kind. Thank you."

"I've just "forced" you to learn a song on the piano. No thank you." gently hugging her.

"You didn't force me, sugar. I wanted to learn, remember?" Hugging her in return.

"I know but you stayed and I'll keep going..." whispered before letting her go.

"I did stay," she smiled, though still feeling a bit like she was imposing. "It's not awkward with you."
