He just stared at her. "Glitter? Like a disco ball?"

"Sparkly confetti and yeah I dont' get it either." matching his stare.

He shook his head. "Who's actin like they need ta be sparkled?"

Greer smiled at him slowly "I think it's Alex but not sure whom else." shaking her head "He's an odd duck."

He looked thoughtful. "Don't know him. But tha only way Imma let ya sparkle me is if ya promise ta shower it offa me later."

"I don't think you will be a target, but the T shirts of the movie will be worn and I am not sure what else they are planning." shaking her head "It should be interesting." with a playful smile at him. "And well Alex is a bit serious and I could see where he'd be a target."

Leaning up and kissing his cheek "I"ve rattled on, how about you?"

He laughed. "Not much ta say about me. I've been a bastard since tha woman died. Not real fit for hangin' around. I loved her." He looked down. Traced a circle on her stomach. "Not that I ever told 'er that. But I did."

"Do you think she knew?" she asks softly.

He laughed and shook his head. "Naw. She didn't know. I mean that she knew I loved her as a friend. Knew she was my best friend. Ta her I was like a brother or somethin. She didn't know."

"I am sorry it must be very hard to keep going on without one so close to you." quietly spoken.

He laughed. "Yeah. Been near inseparable from her for 'bout 200 years." Then he kissed her temple again. "But it's 'bout time for me ta get on with my life." He smiled. "Do ya like puppies?"

Gently touching his face, "It took me over 50 years to attempt to get back into life after my first and last true rejection, it's not the same but..." looking at him "You seem to be doing so, and I like puppies. They don't necessarily like me back."

He leaned to her touch. Then he smiled. "I'm tryin. An' for tha puppies. I've got two of 'em. So long as ya don't mind 'em bein as big as you are, ya might like 'em." He grinned at her. "How 'bout ya come with me sometime next week? Take 'em for a walk in tha park?"

"In case you haven't noticed most things are bigger than me." with a grin at him "And I'd like that. Either after work or Thursday?"

He laughed. "How 'bout Thursday? I can pick ya up. We'll walk the dogs. Make a night of it. Sound good?"

"Sounds good." hugging him gently.

He smiled. "Good." Moved to pick her up. Then he stood up. Moved to lay her on the bed and tuck her in. "I should get goin. Unless ya want me ta stay?"

'I'd like you to stay, but you should go." with a wistful smile at him.

He smiled at her. Then he slid into bed. Right next to her. "Then I'll stay. Darlin ya just gotta talk ta me. Most Kindred get all weird 'bout spendin tha day with another Kindred. If ya want me ta stay, I'll stay."

She looked at him "I'm not most kindred. I'd like you to stay, but you say you've got two puppies waiting for you." looking at him.

He smiled. "An' three ghouls ta take care of 'em." He tilted his head. "Stay or go darlin?"

"Stay." with a hopeful look at him. "I really do suck at asking for things I want you know."

He laughed. Then lay down next to her. Wrapped an arm around her. Pulled her close to him. "S'all right. I'll get ya used ta me soon enough."

"Or you'll get use to me." with an easy laugh curling into him.

He leaned down to kiss her. "Or get used ta each other. Any of tha above works."
