Scotsman and Irishman: The Right Way -- Jamie/Alex Rourke

He was silent for a moment.

"Aye. Tha' be a bad death, indeed. I'm sorry for your loss, lad."

Alex shook his head, "I've had about three centuries to deal, and Wetmore got his in the end. Eventually, he went lookin' for vampires and found the Sabbat. He'd become a Ventrue, and a Templar, before I put 'im down on a mountainside a few winters back in Seattle."

Something flashed in the Prince's eyes. Something akin to possibly hatred, but he nodded slowly.

"Aye. Ye've had three centuries t' deal wi' it. It does nay get easier, nay matter how hard ye wish it to. I ken tha' well."

Alex noted the Prince's expression, "Ya seem to take issue with either Ventrue or Templars. Mind if I ask which one really pisses ya off?"

He smiled.

"Th' Ventrue. I've my own Ventrue t' take issue wi', what killed me wife an' daughter."

Alex nodded, "A pain that I'm more than a little familiar with. It's colored my interactions with most Ventrue since my first nights. That and the communal stick up their arses."

He shook his head.

"I've met Ventrue I can get on wi'. But I'm usually verra wary."

Alex nodded with a slight smirk, "Yeah, I can definitely agree to that."

He shrugged.

"Bad habits, aye?"

Alex nodded, "Aye, somethin' like that."

He looked over at the girl, pink-cheeked and flushed, then at the empty pitcher.

"I'd offer ye t' drink th' old-fashioned way. But Kara, she likes th' bite."

He smiled, and pointed toward Alex.

"Guests first, love."

Alex grinned for a moment, "Well then, far be it from me to keep a lovely young lady wanting for attentions." Alex gently took up the girl's wrist as ivory fangs descended and the Gangrel bit down on the young woman's flesh, his teeth piercing her vein.

He sat back in his chair, and simply watched both Gangrel and the blonde ghoul.

Alex felt the blood course from the young woman's vein, thick and hot as it spilled into his mouth, flowing down his throat and filling him, and though he wanted to, the Gangrel took only a small amount, enough to compensate for what he'd lost when he woke. And as his lips parted from the girl's flesh, his tongue moved gently across it, over the wound and he felt it seal.

Once the wound had been closed, the moaning, slightly squirming girl looked up at Alex with a smile.

"Thank you," she said politely.

The Prince looked him over.

"Gi' it a moment, lad. She's had a full pint already."

Alex nodded at Jamie, "No worries, I'm well aware o' how to pace myself, with the blood or the bottle," He laughed slightly.

He smirked as the girl slid into his lap.

"Nay ye don't. Ye are Irish."

He sounded like he was teasing, even as he used his fingers to stroke the girl under the chin, lifting her head just a bit before he let his fangs sink into her shoulder.

Alex laughed, "Last I checked that was a Celtic problem, which means neither o' us is exactly free o' our love for the drink."

He laughed as he brought his mouth away from the girl's throat. Then he just wrapped his arms around her, letting her rest her head on his shoulder.

"Aye. So? I've only got a temper when someone says I've been off doin' inappropriate things wi' farm animals."

He shot Alex another grin.

Alex laughed, "Oh, just wait till someone actually lips off to me. Then you'll see that Irish temper and, God forbid, maybe a touch o' the claws."

He was laughing again.

"Define wha' it is t' lip off t' ye, please?"

Alex smirked, "The last time it was defined by the claws as callin' me a Toreador priss. Also, tryin' to call me out usually falls inta that category too. Oh, right, and blatantly insultin' me without cause. The Toreador thing falls inta this category also. Mostly it's just a bad idea to actually piss me off."

He smirked.

"You're still a bloody Irishman."

Alex grinned, "I think my dad put it best when he said, 'you can take the lad outta Ireland, but you can't take Ireland outta the lad?' And I'll be the first to admit that me an' my brothers grew up tossin' around, sometimes over the stupidest shyte."

He grunted.

"Lucky you. I got stuck wi' a sister. An' a older sister at tha'."
