Scotsman and Irishman: The Right Way -- Jamie/Alex Rourke

"Meerlinda? Where have I heard that name before?" Alex took a long time to think but he couldn't seem to recall, "What'd she have to say about the ghoul?"

He leaned back in the chair, letting the ghoul lean against him rather comfortably.

"She works for th' circus. Barnum an' Bailey's. She's given freedom, since she kens t' keep her nose clean. She kens all about th' Kindred, an' does nay involve herself wi' them much. She reports t' her clan when she needs t', an' other than tha', she just stays to herself. She's good at findin' out who's th' Kindred an' who isn't, an' doesn't cause problems in any way. She shouldn't be hard t' find, if ye look for her, but she'll likely nay do anythin' wrong."

Alex nodded, "Fair enough. There's this thing about me and potentially loose ends, I generally don't like them and a free roamin' ghouls got the potential. But for now I'll let her be and keep a wary eye on her."

He nodded.

"Aye. I've nay had t' keep an eye on her. I've nay heard anythin' about her, other than when she was first brought t' me."

Alex nodded, "Does the lass have a last name or is she old enough to not have one?"

He laughed.

"Alexandria Williams. She's a pet tiger, though. So I'd suggest caution, if ye wish t' walk up t' her."

For moment, Alex's eyes seemed to take on the hundred yard stare, and he was silent and as still as stone for a long moment.

He tilted his head as he watched the Gangrel.

"Something wrong?"

Alex shook the memory off, "Alexandria Williams, a Tremere ghoul, was an Oracle who gave me a message about Jonathan Wetmore back in Seattle. But she wasn't a free roaming ghoul back then. And that explains where I heard Meerlinda's name. I need to know if you know anything about Joseph Mayek, where he is, what happened to him things like that, after he left Seattle."

For once, his lips curved into a smile.

"Th' bastard is dead, Alex."

Alex nodded, "Well then God be praised and bless who ever done the deed. Alexandria Williams was his, and she's apparently got a knack for sees what's what. Provided that it doesn't stir up a hornets nest I might well see about giving her a new permanent residence and domitor."

He nodded.

"Tha' sounds fine wi' me."

Then he was silent for a moment.

"I'm told it were Tzimisce magic tha' killed him."

Alex nodded, "Well, then at least they've managed to do somethin' right with it."

He was quiet for a moment.

"Does it nay strike ye as odd, tha' Griselda was killed wi' it, Mayek was killed wi' it, as well as Mayek's wee little Toreador twit?"

Alex nodded... "Where's Mercedes Torres, Alexander Gry and a Malkavian by the name of Lia?"

He shrugged.

"Last I heard, Mercedes Torres an' Alexander Gry were in Vancouver. I've nay heard about a Malkavian by th' name o' Lia, other than Griselda sayin' somethin' about her bein' 'safe' somewhere."

Alex nodded, "All of them had something to do with Jonny Nobody's death. Lia was Mayek's alibi, but the problem was that she skipped town before they could question her. A part of me still wants to gut her like a fish for what she did back in Seattle."

He shrugged.

"Griselda wouldn't say where she was. So I canna help ye there. An' aye. I ken all about Nobody's death."

Alex nodded, then closed his eyes for a moment. Now it was the Gangrel who was getting agitated. "Well, if the other three die, I won't be shedding any tears over it."

He held up a finger.

"If ye take it out on her, I'll kill ye. Griselda, I mean."

"If I take what out on her? Nobody's death?"

He nodded.

"Aye."

Alex's right eyebrow rose quizzically, "Why the hell would I take that out on her, Jamie? As best I know, it wasn't her fault."

He tilted her head.

"Nay if ye hear her tell it. Accordin' t' her, it's all her fault."

Alex shook his head, "It being her fault is a little hard for me to swallow, Jamie. Her and Nobody, as best I could tell, were friends. I'm findin' more questions than answers the deeper I try to take this."
