Looking for a Fight (Ali & Open)

Victor walked into the bar and sat down, although it wasn't a Victor that McKay or Greer might recognize. For once, he had two working eyes again, and for another, he was walking perfectly normal for the first time in over one hundred and fifty years. And he seemed a lot more relaxed.

"Good evening Mister McKay, Miss Harrington" he said as he sat down

He didn't precisely do a double-take. He just looked at the man who sat next to him hard, until the face came to his memory. He picked up his drink and sipped it, lifting a brow. "Evening, Mister Steele," he said, hugging Greer a little tighter in his lap.

"Your usual?" with a grin at Victor, he was after all a regular at the club.

Greer paused looked at the stranger, then realized who it was "Good evening." with a curl into Jim's lap sipping through the straw her purple drink.

Victor nodded at Ali and smiled at McKay and Greer

"How was Europe?"

He nodded with a polite sort of smile. "Lovely. I trust nothing fell to pieces while we were gone?"

"Oriella was kidnapped by evil people, Chase abandoned Griselda, I had elective surgery and bought a sensible, not flashy automobile. "

"So nothing fell apart." with a smile at him and another sip of her drink.

"Miyu and I are back together too" he said while sipping his drink

He chuckled at Greer's words, then took a sip of his drink. "Heard about Orie, didn't hear about Griselda and Chase, can see the surgery. Nice choice on less flashy car, though." Then his brow just rose at the commentary about Miyu. "Grats," he said finally.

Greer's lips twitched, she turned into Jim's shoulder and then took a deep breath "Very good to hear." choosing not to say what the DOC was thinking it seemed, taking the straw back in her mouth instead very quickly.

Victor smiled. "Thanks. Although I still prefer the Duesenberg. Perfectly fine daily driver. " That was almost assuredly typical ventrue behavior. Part of him was as stuck in the 1930's as he was in the 1850's.

"Hey Ali, buy the club a round please? I'm in a stupidly good mood. Just ah keep it discrete? "

"Yes sir." with a nod to him going to quietly start getting the rounds ready while people wouldn't know about it.

"Thanks " he smiled "Oh, Cass is back in town too" he said to McKay and Greer "And Rourke has a crazy scheme to salvage Spanish gold he tried pitching to me and Mister Alexander "

Jim smiled at that. "Cass is back? Well, that's good news."

"Yeah. Haven't had much of a chance to talk to her. Looked worn out when she's showed up again. "

He shrugged. "Doesn't surprise me. Girl's always on tha go."

"Yup. I've given up that lifestyle. Too stressful. Now I just go along for the ride when Miyu needs a driver when she does Miyu things. Plenty of excitement right there. "

Ali set his drink down, then held her hand out for his card to pay for the round of drinks, but said nothing.

Victor slid his card over and a pair of fifties for her tip. It only seemed right since she'd just served the whole club

SHe nodded to him, then smiled back for the tip and went to ring him up.

Victor signed the charge slip and drained his drink. "Everything still OK with you Ali?"

"Things are getting better ever day Mr. Steele thanks for checking.' with a nod to him and seeing if he wanted a refill or not.

Greer leaned up whispering to Jim, then giggled and started to sip her drink innocently again.

Thankfully, he wasn't taking a sip of his drink when she whispered to him. If he had been, he would have spit it out when he laughed. As it was, he buried his head against Greer's shoulder with his mirth, then nipped her shoulder. "Love you," he said through his amusement.
