"Mmm I can see that actually. I guess if I can be fluent in high, formal German, Spanish should be easy"

"German is not easy." with a nod to him. "Shall we start again?"

"Yes" he agreed, while turning back to his book

Again she kept teaching, taking it steady and slow, with another break 45 minutes later.

"Mr. Steele, how do you feel I am doing teaching you and do you feel you are getting a good grasp of what we are covering?"

"I think you are doing rather well" he smiled while rubbing at his eye

"It's always best to learn from a native speaker I think"

"You are done for the night." with a smile as he rubbed his eye. "I am glad that you are finding the lesson's worthwhile."

He chuckled and ran a finger under the strap of his eye patch as well. "Been a long night already before I got here. And you, are you benefiting from this exchange?"

"Yes I don't get to talk my native tongue that often." with a nod to him. 'I hope you have a better rest of your night." starting to clean up her books, looking at the hat and him with a smirk. "I can't believe you bought this for me."

"Funny story that hat." he chuckled while gathering his notes.

"Let's just say once upon a time during my travels, a three letter government agency tapped me to work for them. A lot of businessmen were, and are. I've got permission to say that much, the Soviets figured me out, it's in their archives. Anyway, I got that hat when the USSR collapsed. I was trading American pantyhose for Soviet military souvenirs. "

"Really, pantyhose for the hat, sure you want me to take your souvenir?" looking worriedly at him.

He laughed at that. "Honestly, I have more. I found a shady supply officer, and I bought the entire contents of a military warehouse for cash, including the trucks to load it in, and the cargo plane to carry it all out of Russia. Most of it went to... places. I kept some uniform pieces."

"Good to know." with a grin at him, then taking the hat and putting it on.

"Looks good on you"

"Ha ha." taking the hat off and putting it in her bag. "Two weeks more Spanish?"

"Sounds good"

She reached out to shake his hand, "Then see you Mr. Steele in two weeks."

He took her hand in his cold hand and shook. "Thank you again Miss Laguna"

"No thank you." with a nod to him and picked up the last of her stuff.

"School will be starting soon so we may have to change the night, but not till after our next meeting."

"Of course. Whatever works for you in that regard"

"Thank you." heading for the door, holding it for Victor to leave.

He smiled politely and limped out of the room. "Pleasant evening."
