One night at sea... (grandpa) - Nyxie

Nyxie yawned and stretched, her back arched. She curled up on her side and looked over in the direction of Grandpa.

"What should we do tonight," she wondered sleepily out loud.

He turned to look at her; eyes cold and flat. But he knew that she would not need this explained to her. For her, he was anything but cold, even if his eyes told a different story.

"What would you like to do tonight, my sweet?"

She reached and brushed the stand of hair that lay across his face and tucked it behind his ear.

"Teach me something? Something beautiful and strange." She put it to him as a question, as she asked she smiled in warm devilish manner. She knew his cold eyes were just a cover, a mask to protect himself.

"I want to know how to change the flesh..." her voice trailing off, after she spoke her dark desire.

He watched her with cold eyes for a moment.

"Do you truly wish to change the flesh, my child? With it comes a dark and great responsibility. One of the greatest responsibilities of all, my darling."

"What kind of responsibility?" If anything had taught her to ask more questions about what she was truly getting into, it had been living with the Setities for a while.

"Will I have to forsake humanity?, cause I don't know about that. I've seen what that does and..." She trailed off.

He shook his head.

"No, not unless you wish it so. But it is so enticing, little one. So sensual and divine to mold the flesh that many do forsake the human aspects of themselves to be seduced by the ever-changing form. Of themselves, of others. It is a slippery slope to try to climb."

"But couldn't you use it for good too? Like fixing clef lips and deformities and stuff?. And like helping the girls that don't want to be girls become boys"

She paused thinking.

"That might be a masquerade breach though. I think about it more."

Nyxie looked deeply into his eyes and smiled.

"Take me dancing?" she asked with a subtle yearning.

He rose to his feet and held out a hand for her. All in one movement.

"Come. We will go dancing."

She put her hand in his, and uses his support to help her stand.

"Maybe I should change first" She looked down at her black silk nightie.

His eyes traveled over her slowly. There was very little recognition in them.

"If you wish. But I have seen some of these ladies wearing much less, little one."

"Lets be scandalous then..."

She turned and opened the closet and tossed some clothes over her shoulders as she went digging.

She turn with a victorious smile on her face and held the black one in her left hand and the red one in her right hand.



"Which one?" She asked.

He looked them both over with a critical eye.

"Wear the red. It is the color of the blood, and the blood is the life."

She pulled the nightie she was wearing over her head. Her peaches and cream flesh shimmered in the low light of their room. She dropped the nightie on the floor uncaringly. Turning back to the closet she bent over displaying her well proportioned ass.

She twirled and in her hand she held a pair of red satin stilettos. She slid them on her feet one at a time. Next the red dress, if it could be called that she slid over her head. Looking over her shoulder at gramps she asked politely, "will you tie me up?" The strings that held the back together dangled loose.

He seemed unmoved, other than the smile at her joy. When she asked, he stepped forward and took her laces with gentle fingers. He was also gentle about tying her into the dress as well, leaning down to whisper to her as he made certain the small bits of fabric stayed in place.

"Tell me again why you wished to find me."

"Because you are my ancestor and can teach me to be everything that I was born to be."

She leaned back into him, and sighed.

"Because you are the one person I know that I can trust. I've had problems with individuals leading me down paths that ended with me... well crazy."

She paused, her head turned so she could look at his eyes.

"I knew that I had to find you, that you had to real, from the very first night that I crawled out of the dirt ."

His arms went around her and he seemed distant again.

"Who would have you know that I do not exist?"

She could heard the vacancy in his voice return and was a little sad for it. She stayed in his arms.

"Grandpa, I don't think that I've actually told you the tale of my embrace. It was not what I now know to be usual. I had no teacher, I had no friends, I had no community, I was not a ghoul beforehand and I knew nothing of kindred society." She paused a little thoughtful.

"I meet a man. All I remember of him was that his name was Brian. He approached me in a club in seattle and we danced, drank and had a great time. At the end of the night he took me home and we had sex. Dirty, nasty sex and it was nice. Then he bit me and slowly I died in his arms. I vaguely remember him shoving his wrist in my face and the first taste I'd ever had of blood. And then nothing, for a good long while. When I woke I was buried in the dirt, and all alone. I dug my way out, it was really unpleasant to say the least. When I reached the surface I found that I was beneath a park bench in one of Seattle many city parks. No one was around, it was the middle of the night. I walked home, something I was very unused to, let me tell you. It took me several hours, as I lived all the way across town. When I got home, I found the maid awake in a chair staring at the phone. She screamed and cried and hugged me. I had been gone for 3 nights." She paused again.

"Who ever had made me was long gone and I lived on my own, taught myself for 4 months before anyone in the Camarilla ever found me. But, I knew that first night, all alone, filled with a beast, filled with odd abilities, filled with hunger and lust that you were real and I must find you. That it was destiny."

The seriousness and weight gone from her voice, she returned to her bouncy smiley self. "Well and then there was that time that I heard your voice in my head when we fought this ancient vampire demon thingy, but that just confirmed what I already knew."

He brushed stray hair out of her face with a finger and stared at her for one moment.

"You know what will happen when I find this 'Brian', little one?"

"No, what do you mean?"

He stared at her and brushed her hair from her face again.

"Our Clan is a noble one. Our family, our lineage. It is noble, a line of kings. The way you were treated is not noble. It is decidedly not fit for a king."

His eyes were cold.

"The error of the way in which you were brought to our family is unforgivable."

Her eyes were quizzical, not at all frightened by the tone of his voice.

"I never thought of it like that." She replied in a hushed tone.

"Most people think I'm just a cute ditz. Which is sort of true, but I am more than that though."

He stared at her for a very long moment.

"You are cute, little one. You are also a Tepes, and with that name comes a lineage like none other. You are much more than this 'ditz' that you say others see you as."

"Thats what I want to change. I don't want people to see me as a ditz, but I don't want to loose my inherently happy self. I've tried being dark and menacing and it's really... well, unhealthy for me." A frustrated tone entered her voice. "I just want to make sure that I'm living up to my lineage."

She looked down and away, her hair fell across her face, her voice unsure and timid. "I just want you to be proud of me."

He took her chin between cold fingers and turned her to face him again.

"I am. Proud of you."

"Really?..."

"But, what have I done for you to be proud?"
