Too long a wait (Mina) - Mina's Home and Studio

She caught his gaze and held it.

"Something about you reaches deep inside and pulls it out. Unlocks its cage. And I crave more."

He smiled now.

"And what beast is it inside you, that aches to be free."

Not what she said.. but he seemed to think it was the truth.

She smiled.

"It is the feeling of the wild roots of my kind. The creatures that lured young men and women to their dooms."

What else was a half goat to say?

He smiled.

"And should I worry about you leading me to my doom, chica?"

He didnt look worried.

She laughed.

"No, since you are doing the same to me. We will grow strong and lead others to their dooms."

He smiled.

"Ah, but i am leading no one else.. but maybe my sister. You do not have many to wonder about. I am rather.. insular."

She chuckled.

"So, tell me more of you."

He held her gently.

"What do you want to know, the past, the present or the future?"

She cuddled into him.

"The present."

He thought, his hands staying still on her flesh less they play and get her going again.

"There is not much to tell. I found my sister again, I am here to protect her. I spend my evenings with her or watching her or trying to get to know the people where wwe live. I like long walks in the moonlight and blood on sacrifical stones. I am not a happy fluffy bunny kind of guy. I miss the mountains, but the forests here are good, if not as old. This place is of the sea and the sea is waiting to take it all back."

She nodded, currently not interested in doing anything but talking and touching. She just wanted to be close.

"The sea has always been good to me. But now you have something else to fill your time. You have come back to spe4nd a night with me, leaving your sister to her own devices."

"Yes, though it happens. She gets frustrated with her attempts to socialize me and then of course.. I do not handle caging well. I like to sleep outdoors, i like to roam the woods i am not one to watch tv and spend much time indoors. it just isnt me. And i promise this isnt the last night either. I was thinking.. maybe i should come over more often. If it is not too much. Or too presumptious."

She smiled.

"It is not too presumptuous. You are welcome here whenever you wish."

He shook his head.

"Not whenever. You might find me here too often. we both have others who can be possesive, and you need your dreamers. But more often definitely. I missed you. I am surprised how much I missed you as a matter of fact."

Her hand reached up to touch his face.

"You are not used to needing others, are you? I am not either, and yet I find myself missing you so very deeply when you are not here."

He looked at her still and thought about his answer.

"No. i am used to people needing me. I am used to gaining trust and walking. not used to giving it back. When I lost everything.. i kind of became about me. And then my people. And now..My sister opened a door to care. You kind of snuck in."

His voice was quieter than normal. that was... a big reveal for the primal man.

She smiled.

"What a pair we make. Two users who find themselves needing."

He sighed holding her.

"You know i could hurt you, and i am not talking phsyically."

She nodded and clung to him.

"And I could hurt you. But why should that stop me from seeing where this leads?"

he held her, even though some part of him told him this was a bad idea. He didnt care. A larger part of him told him it was good, really good.

"I didnt think it would scare you off. I just though it right that I bring it up. At least it will be a thrilling ride."

And more thrilling than he could handle if she and his sister met.

She smiled and looked up at him.

"So, I am a girl who misses the islands, and you are a boy who misses the mountains. Together, we are something magical."

She grinned.

"What's your favorite color?"

He had to think about that.

"Brown the brown of woods and rich dirt. And yours?"

She chuckled.

"The blue of the ocean."

He laughed.

"to people yearning for the wild and somehow living in the city and making it their new wilds. The animals in the city aremore dangerous and more clueless. Maybe that is why they are more dangerous. what is your favorite food?"

She wiggled slightly.

"All kinds of Latin foods."
