I Never Kiss on the First Date - White's Funhouse

As promised, she was there on time, dressed similar to the way she had been dressed before.

The Limousine pulled up, and White stepped out personally. He smiled at the lady before him, bowing.

"M'lady, you look beautiful this evening." he personally got the door for her. "Your chariot awaits."

She took him in with mild interest. Then she slid into the car's seat.

"Thank you for the compliment. You look quite well this evening as well."

"You are too kind." he joined her and they drove off. "So what led one such as yourself to come here?"

She stared at him for a moment.

"There was word that two of your number died in an attack. I am a competent warrior. My skills are needed."

His expression grew somber. "Yes, we did. It was a great loss for the city."

She shrugged.

"But necessary. From what I have seen, the loss has motivated many within this city to take true action. They are no longer content to sit at home and hide within their havens. Perhaps bloodlust for vengeance is not the best reasons to set things into motion. But one reason is as good as another if it means that the city does not sit idly by and watch their numbers dwindle slowly from incursions that should barely come close to them."

"Well spoken. I trust you have martial skills to support such an effort?"

She stared at him in that cold way again.

"I am a Child of Haquim. That is a silly question, little one."

He continued to smile. "Of course. Perhaps you'll grant me a demonstration sometime."

She stared at him again.

"You wish I should kill someone for you?"

"I hardly think an actual slaying would be neccessary to demonstrate some measure of your ability."

She gave him a blank look.

"You wish me to fight with you?"

"Not on a first date." he smiled. "I meant a demonstrate of your martial skills as you would in training, perhaps."

She continued to stare.

"So you wish me to perform for you."

He raised a hand. "I apologize, m'lady; clearly, such a demonstration would be inappropriate to even request. I do beg your pardon."

She kept staring at him.

"I did not say it was inappropriate. I am trying to be clear on what it is that you want from me. Since you cannot speak plainly, I must ask questions."

"I asked merely for a demonstration." he continued to smile.

"A demonstration can be managed in several different ways, little one. I'm looking for the way you envision this demonstration being handled."

"Indeed. But it would be rude of me to place restrictions on you."

She sighed and rolled her eyes heavenward.

"Except that you would rather have me guess at what you want. Which puts a bigger restriction upon my methods than if you would simply be out with it and tell me what you want."

"Very well, I request a small demonstration of your ability in such a manner that poses no risk to either of us and would not violate the Prince's law."

"When?"

He tilted his head. "Whenever you wish."

She stared at him again.

"Stop the car."
