Something Special (2/14) - Alterations While U Wait

She let herself in, then set about quickly setting up the large projection screen in the main room.  And the projector.  She had a lot of equipment with her.

Porter's note on the fridge suggested he wouldn't be out for much longer - time was short for scheming.

She chuckled at the note, then looked at her watch. And texted. Oh good, still had time. She'd planned this right. After she finished setting it up, she went to change.

Porter entered through the back door, clutching a bouquet of blue roses.

She came out of the bedroom wearing a simple red dress from the 50's. And she smiled to see him there with the roses.

"Happy Valentine's Day, my heart."

He beamed. "And to you, love." Porter stepped forward and offered her the roses.

She took them, breathed them in, then stood on her tippy toes to kiss him.

"I have something special planned for you."

He raised an eyebrow. "Oh my."

She chuckled.

"It's something you haven't seen in a long time. Live."

She stepped back, still holding the roses in her hand, and as her phone beeped at her, she turned on her equipment. And this is what was projected onto the screen.

"Live to you, from Hawaii. Sunset."

Porter stood, mouth agape.

"Amazing..."

And after a few moments. "Thank you."

Now that it was playing, she stepped back to him with a smile.

"Q will keep it open until the sun's completely gone. So we can watch to your heart's content."

"I presume you're recording this, knowing you. You think of everything."

She laughed.

"Of course I am. But that is what's really happening, as fast as the internet can travel, right now, at this moment."

"It's fantastic. Thank you."

Porter reached over to hold her hand.

She took his hand, holding her flowers close and leaning into him. And just watching the sun go down. She knew how much it would mean. And how long it had been since he last saw one.
