Points of View Take 2 - The Den

"She is very direct," she acknowledged softly.

"Yes yes she is." starting to loose her nerve but trying to stay focused.

"Hey, we got this, okay?" She patted her hand as she pulled onto the road the Regency was on.

"Not like we have status to loose right." with a soft chuckle.

She laughed heartily. "Well, I know I sure as hell don't."

"Exactly." with a chuckle and another squeeze of her hand.

Sometime later....

Cass helped Greer back into the truck outside of the Regency, looking mildly disappointed, but she didn't say much. Into the truck she got and turned over the engine and got back onto the road.

"So you weren't the only one to be called. I don't know... sounds desperate to me."

"Yes and I am not sure what I expected but that was not it." with a smile at her.

"It's the same everywhere, Greer. You get info, you take it to an officer... And you simply don't hear any more about it until some announcement is made the Prince or a Harpy saying, 'Oh, hey... there was this threat. We squished it.' It's just been my experience. And it's not like either one of us are really in a position to help... I mean, maybe you are. But I'm sure as hell not. I mean, what can I do? Only play the messenger."

"I can't do a damn thing either." with a sigh looking out the window.

"I'm sorry I'm so useless. Really, I am," she said with a sigh and a glance at Greer out of the corner of her eye.

"Dear so am I." with a sigh.

"The only thing we can do is just... keep listening."

"Yes and keep talking to at least each other.' with a smile at her.

She gave a nod and smiled. "S'all we can do."

"That's it..." with a sigh of frustration but gentle lean on Cass.

At a stop sign near the house, Cass gave Greer a kiss on the top of her head. "Do you think I should try to talk to the... presence... in my haven? Should I just let it go?"

'I really don't know any more.' with a nod to her "But at this point I'd ask if they could protect you. The last thing you need is another thing causing you issues at the moment."

"No deals..." She whispered to her. "No protection," she looked at Greer briefly. "I don't trust it."

"Yes I don't either." shaking her head "But I'm tired of being fucked with too."

She gave a bit of a smirk, but kept her eyes on the road. "It's not something you ever quite get used to, I'm afraid."

"Well I got good at taking it without being kissed first but having the option, the kiss really does make things easier." with an odd little smirk on her face.

She chuckled at that. "Well, of course the kiss makes the difference. But there's in no way in hell I'm kissin' this thing," she shook her head.

'Oh I know..." with a grin at Cass.

She pulled into Jim's driveway with a sigh. "Let me know if anything else comes down the pipeline?"
